Unlike you, I don't go around trying to change people's minds or force them to accept my beliefs via government dictate. I ply nothing, you on the other hand ply sexual slavery and thought policing just like in 1984.
Your funny in a sad sort of way JB. It is like having a junior-higher hanging around trying to be witty and intelligent.
Thanks for the laughs this Saturday morning JB!less
Why is there some false dichotomy between how people are to be fed. Jesus spoke of both the physical and spiritual needs and how we are to do both as best we can as His followers. The government is not working in the name of Jesus but that doesn't preclude them from acting righteously with those in need but the Xian is not supposed to rely on anyone else to follow His commands to care for others.
This is not an either/or proposition, it is a yes/and lifestyle.less
You whine about how people oppress you and others because of some irrelevant book. You do this often as a quick perusal of your comments shows. So irrelevant that its relevance in society makes you whine, complain and declare it irrelevant. Obviously it is a relevant book my friend. No matter how many times you say it doesn't make it true SB.
No problem Steve. I and you cannot read minds so we don't get to judge that realm of reality. Jesus can and does know the thoughts so it is His purview. Pretty simple really. SB, only if people let it define them instead of accepting grace and forgiveness.
JB, That isn't an insult, it is the obvious truth - you continually spout a lie that you know is a lie. You spend your time mainly cut-n-pasting the same lie so whats wrong with speaking the obvious truth? Nothing. There is a reason no one believes you JB, because everyone hear can see the obvious - you are a liar that thinks repetition will convince others.
Of course "consensual homosexuality" is not mentioned it Scripture...it is included along with all pornea. It doesn't need to be mentioned specifically. That line of thought says that ID theft is not talked about in the Bible so it isn't included under theft..... Really poor linguistical gymnastics at best.
Very interesting article indeed. One can agree that evangelicals are no less looking for wealth as the average American (and we are speaking in broad terms knowing that there are large exceptions to the broad strokes) does. That is a big problem. What seems to be the issue is that the author assumes that Jesus' commands are to be fulfilled through the government mandate whereas most (certainly ...more

What seems to be the issue is that the author assumes that Jesus' commands are to be fulfilled through the government mandate whereas most (certainly not all) evangelicals see the commands to be fulfilled through the Christian to whom Jesus made the commands (technically they weren't Xians at that point in time but for brevity sake I am calling all Jesus' followers Christians). This author is no closer to the truth than those who are die-hard individualists and call themselves Xians - both are looking at Jesus' commands and interpreting them politically and not spiritually.
But the article does bring some issues to bear on evangelicalism in America that need to be addressed. OF course the author's sweeping statements based on his assumptions bring much doubt onto his motives just like someone who denies any governmental role in helping those in need (and I don't know too many evangelicals who think the government doesn't have a role).less
So...there needs to be a campaign in order to boost the official numbers of atheists/agnostics? Odd, all I ever hear is about how courageous atheists/agnostics are but they are so courageous they have to lie on a multiple-choice religious question on a census? So silly.... lol
