  • The End of History - The Moral Necessity of Eschatology

Wow. I can't believe how many anti-eschatology people are rearing their head. Even the secular world acknowledges that the Bible is the best piece of recorded history we have to go on. Over 25% of the Bible deals with prophecy aka predicting the future. Of those that have already occured, the Bible has predicted them exactly. When you compare what the Bible predicts about the end of times versus what is going on in the world today, it's pretty plain to see that the end is near. As yourselves, are gas prices ever going to go down? Are wars ever going to stop? Are natural disasters increasing or decreasing as the years go by? This world is gaining momentum, just as the Bible predicted it would.

Jesus spoke way too much about the end times and hell for them not to be true. It all goes back to the one fact. Either Jesus was a liar, a lunatic, or the Messiah. There is no in between. Which do you believe? I believe he was the Messiah and is coming back soon and I have the Bible, the most accurate piece of recorded history, on my side.

    Matt 36-40

36"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; 39and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. 40Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

Keep in mind, to us, a "long time" is 100 years. To God, that's like a blinking of an eye. The birth pains have started and they cannot be stopped. Repent and follow Jesus so that you may spend eternity in Heaven! Jesus spoke way too much about the end times for it not to be true. Notice what he said in the scripture i posted above. Two will be in a field, one will be taken and one will be left. It's going to happen, it's just a matter of when. Be prepared.

  • Study: Few Born Agains Tithe to Churches

There is something mysterious about tithing. On paper and logically, it doesn't make sense to give 10% of your income, but if you try it (with a giving heart), the Lord blesses that 90% you have left tremendously. My wife and I made a commitment to start tithing about a year and a half ago and it feels great. There's just something about the discipline of doing it that I think the Lord loves. Is it a sin to not give that much? No I don't believe so, but just like being baptized or taking communion, I think it's something we all should do. Remember, no one has ever become poor by giving.

I'm not going to judge anyone's holiness. The bottom line of this whole thing is that Miley is professing to be a Christian. Good for her! I do the same! But I'll tell you this, if you look at every part of my life, all day, you're going to find sin. Of course the same can be said for Miley. But, last I checked, Christ died for our sins. Praise the Lord that she is speaking about Christian things.

Lord, I'm going to publically pray (via post), that you watch over each of the people on this board. Thank you for each of them and their insights. Also Lord, please bless Miley, keep her strong, and keep her from evil. Thank you for her bold witness, may I have the same boldness in my life today. In Jesus name, Amen.

I take this article differently. I see this as part of the overall plan as outlined in the Book of Revelation. I feel like there is a wave of anti-Christianity building throughout the world and without our Christian heavyweights on the front lines for us, I think the pendulum is swinging away from us. Just look at the front page of the Christian Post and one can see all the negative stuff going on against us. I am no theologian, but I kind of see this as part of the beginning "birth pains" the Bible talks about the world having, ending with Christ followers being killed after the Rapture. Maybe I'm too dramatic, but I don't know. Praise the Lord we won't be here for the severe persecution that is sure to come.

I don't understand why my posts were considered "inappropriate." I was merely standing up for Dave Ramsey in saying that according to everything I've heard and read, he is a Christian who teaches some great financial principals with great references to Scripture. Nothing inappropriate about trying to set the record straight for folks who might have run across another post that calls into question a great ministry.

One more thing, canadianchrisian, you'll notice this article is posted in the "business" section of the site. Obviously no author in this part of the site is going to discuss the blessed union between a man and a woman. You said that his advice wasn't biblically grounded. As Dave points out during his radio or tv shows, no where does the Bible instruct any of us going into debt. Imagine what we could all do if we were debt free and built wealth. Imagine how much we could give! Imagine how much we could help the poor! Imagine how many marriages would be saved if we all weren't struggling with a snowball of debt! This idea of getting out of debt, making wise choices with your money, and tithing are pretty much the core ideals of finances set forth in the Bible. Sorry to rant and rave, you just got me fired up. Dave is helping many of us get to the point where we can become a better servent with what the Lord has entrusted us. Take care, have a blessed day.

canadianchristian... You need to check out Dave Ramsey on the Fox Business Network each night from 8-9. Quite often he'll quote scripture in reference to his financial advice. His favorite one is from Proverbs. "The borrower is slave to the lender." Pr 22:7. Dave always discusses tithing and giving on his call in shows and he always speaks about making tithing a part of your life. In his books about teaching your kids about money, he even instructs them to tithe part of their allowance. Take a few minutes to do a good background check on Dave and you'll see that not only his a Christian, but he reaches far more people with his minestry than most churches and organizations.
