Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
The article fails to bring out the salient point that Sufis are regarded as apostates by radical Muslims. Thus there is an element of rational error to these actions, and it is an element that you will never divorce from Islam. People who promote the PC "religion of peace" delusion, take note.
Jones is correct about the hideousness of Islam, but his methods actually are going to hinder Kingdom efforts. You have to regard Islamic cultures with pity, as toward an ignorant undeveloped child. It takes patience and tact to reach them, to draw them out of themselves, to show them there is an alternative, something they can begin to trust; that they can become something better than they now ar...more

It takes patience and tact to reach them, to draw them out of themselves, to show them there is an alternative, something they can begin to trust; that they can become something better than they now are. Burning the Quran puts the backwardness in stark contrast with civilized values, but it does not provide a way forward.less
"It does not say, “if married, the husband of one wife.” - No it doesn't, but that's precisely what it means. You're being far too literal. Paul speaks elsewhere of his right, not his necessity, to lead a sister as a wife, and indeed Paul was not married at that stage of his life, if ever. The problem is our rigid church structure. Why are we even hiring outside pastors? We should be rais...more

Paul speaks elsewhere of his right, not his necessity, to lead a sister as a wife, and indeed Paul was not married at that stage of his life, if ever. The problem is our rigid church structure. Why are we even hiring outside pastors? We should be raising them up from the congregation, where we know their lives. Leaving the NT pattern is precisely why the church has become weak, confused and irrelevant.less
Let's put aside the actual homosexual question for a moment, to make a point. Are we to believe that there are NO homosexuals who are in it for the wrong reasons, who would not benefit from encouragement to leave homosexuality? This decision is completely unreasonable. If you can have gay-affirming apps, you can have apps that affirm the benefit of leaving the gay lifestyle. This is nothing but po...more

This is nothing but political correctness' intolerance, dressed up as Orwellian tolerance.less
"Experts" have ruined our culture. A more "incremental" response might have been ideal, but the important thing was that the kid came out of himself in a crisis. Funny how the man in the street got that intuitively with no problem, but the PHD misses the point and goes for esoterica.
There's nothing wrong with adopting the lifestyle of a religion to see how it "fits". That's not necessarily a post-modern sin, as Mohler asserts. The problem here is that the guy openly doing it is a pastor. Unless he's doing so as a steadfast Christian who wants to report back on the differences between the two religions, that's enough to disqualify him from office. We're not given enough info h...more

The problem here is that the guy openly doing it is a pastor. Unless he's doing so as a steadfast Christian who wants to report back on the differences between the two religions, that's enough to disqualify him from office. We're not given enough info here to judge, though it doesn't look good. God can use anything to draw people to Himself. Hopefully this dalliance will bring the pastor to his senses.less
Amazing. Bethany lost an arm, and yet she glows. But some of the posters here lost their hearts, and it shows. Now who's the cripple? God uses the foolish things of this world to confound the wise; the weak to defeat the strong. God bless you, Bethany. Keep shining for Jesus.
This is more than a story about a failed nation, even if that nation has nuclear arms. It is a story about what Islam does to men's hearts, and what, unbridled, it will do to a nation. May the Lord grant peace to His saints. And may the West wake up.
In Jn. 6, Jesus revealed that the people there had followed Him because He had given them bread. But He did not condemn them. The challenge is to mature in faith. Some revival converts will; others might not. Revival always casts a wide net. I'd hate to see it replaced by a dry doctrinalistic form of religion. One can go off the road on either side.
The first and most important step to healing is to recognize that the Lord and the church are different. The Lord is in the church, but the church can fail; the Lord never fails. Once you see that, concentrate on opening the way to the Lord back up. Regardless of being shunned or out of church, He is in your life and will direct your steps. He wants you to be with "those who call on the name of th...more

Once you see that, concentrate on opening the way to the Lord back up. Regardless of being shunned or out of church, He is in your life and will direct your steps. He wants you to be with "those who call on the name of the Lord from a pure heart", so make it your intent to be open to genuine koinonia as He leads you. His promise is to use all things for the good.less

This discussion is long overdue. I have seen much abuse in the church, almost since the first day. Our ecclesiology is far too close to the OT or corporation model of pyramidal authority, and a second reformation is beginning to bring the church back to the Biblical model in the Book of Acts. Our ecclesiology is far too close to the OT or corporation model of pyramidal authority, and a second reformation is beginning to bring the church back to the Biblical model in the Book of Acts. Read Simson's "Houses that change the world", free online. And as Angela says below, pray for healing - both yours and the church's. Revival is coming, and it probably will look like that that is in China.less
