Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
Sebellius is a proven liar of major proportions and a radical humanist. IOW, she fits right into the obama administration. But most of all, it appears to be career first for her. She would have no qualms bringing about a Brave New World, as long as she had a prominent place running it. She must be pretty excited over the prospects of running 1/6 of the US economy.
When the anti-prayer ruling came down in 1963, ninety percent of the nation favored prayer. But this wasn't about the prayer, which was the most innocuous thing possible, it was about stripping God out of our culture. All that money, and American lives, and this is what we have to show for it. I'm not trying to criticize the war after the fact, but it is clear that, at least under the current president, we have lost any control or influence in the nation with regard to democratic values. Why then are we there, if not to establish a friendly, safe alliy?
The tough questions were avoided. And 23M is a laughable underestimation of the house church movement. But maybe it's better not to put this guy on the spot. Still, some editorial mention should have framed his remarks, so the reader doesn't come away with a wrong impression. Otherwise CP becomes an organ of state media.
That's correct, DP. Many Christians are caught up in doctrinal/praxis warfare. There's a place for that, but it's become so unrestrained that love is long gone - the same love that Jesus says characterizes the Christian and points to Him.
I have a better question. What if you were a Christian and Christians treated you the way they treat Christians? Ever visit Christian forums? Ruthless, loveless doctrinal warfare abounds. Something is dreadfully wrong with the state of the Body in America. Someone ought to be reading Jn 17.
The worst thing about this is that it signifies a turnaround. The government must have seen the potential for a massive blossoming of human and civil rights after it loosened up last year, and feared losing control. If only they could see the good such a real revolution would do for their nation.
God bless them. This happened in the past, was acknowledged and dealt with. I don't think any period of stepping down is necessary. There will be consequences, and there will be detractors, but the gifts and calling of God are without repentance, and he is still accountable to move forward with them. I will them and their ministry well.
I have to agree with LaHaye's vision for a quality film and his assessment of the failure of the first series. The first installment had a few good scenes - Carpathian's murder at the UN, the Jewish scholar's confrontation with the Two Witnesses at the Wailing Wall. But the rest was pretty sad. I'm not one to equate budget with quality. But a lot was riding on those movies in terms of the credi...more

I'm not one to equate budget with quality. But a lot was riding on those movies in terms of the credibility of Christian cinema. And I think we lost ground rather than gained it. Much more good was done by other low-budget endeavors, such as Chariots of Fire.
There's a need for Biblical cinema. Let's hope those with the calling get it together. We could use the hope.less
Some things are sacred. Saying goodbye to loved ones, especially when you’ve lost them to service to the nation, should be one of them. If this nation does not protect that which is honorable, it will lose everything. And that is exactly what has been happening for decades now. It’s time to return to our foundations.less
