Not only was she in physical pain but her marriage to Dottie's father Buck broke up right in the middle of it. He remarried and started a church. In the midst of all of that the woman wrote at least 2500 songs. I heard her in an interview say that she quit counting. May all Christians have that type of commitment to the Lord. That is my endeavor.

I remember when the police were trying to catch Bundy as a teenager. It was a horrifying time. I remember the relief when Bundy was captured and how relieved the nation was. I also remember the aired interview with him the night before his execution. I sadly also remember the rag papers claiming to have pictures of his corpse. I also sadly remember how most in the media completely dismissed Bundy's comments. They refused to accept that porn has the same effect on people like advertising does. It makes you think that you have to have it. Images of any kind are powerful. As stated in this article porn dehumanizes people.
I hope that Glenn's program will have an effect. However I think the love of money is too powerful to think about the adverse results of their product to act responsibly.

Remember this is the same man that said there was religious freedom for Christians in Syria.
Those that are trusting in our government and way too many Christian leaders of our day better rethink that allegiance to the blind guides.

Warren is a Christian but changed the focus of his matchmaking service from Christian to any religion. I had no idea he had done this until I decided to check the site out to total curiosity. He was going for anyone that wanted a heterosexual relationship, not just Christians. In a secular context the same-sex people could sue for discrimination it appears. Maybe if he had kept it as a Christian matchmaking service he would have had better standing in court. He might have won on the basis of freedom of religion. Other businesses won these types of lawsuits. I know the ACLJ has won a good number of cases. At one point he was in CA. I would think he could have forwardly projected this possibility. Oh well.

I am also an african-american that did not vote for Obama. This is an incomplete article about race. One needs to review if some blacks voted for Obama for fear of being castigated by their black friends and relatives. Yes many of us have gone through verbal tongue lashings just for saying we did not agree with his policies. We were wrong just for disagreeing. We have hit a new low in our country when we cannot discuss issues without being silenced or threatened.
More importantly than the so-called racial divide is that the body of Christ is forever fragmented. We are in the last days. Those that voted for him knowing his ungodly stands on just about every moral issue in this country will be sorry they voted for this. It would not surprise me that after they made their vote they began to think about what they did. However nothing can change the fact that they knowingly voted against God and His principles. If they had problems with the Republican party they could have stayed home instead of going against God's word. I am scared for them because they will reap their treason. I am praying for His mercy to rule because it will not be easy for those Christians. Too many of my friends (black and white) knowingly did this. I woke up crying about this. I'm sure some will rail me and think I'm stupid. God will have the final say on all of this.
We are in trouble. Only those that stand with God will thrive through what will come.

Money cannot stop God's hand. Saints from all over the nation are praying for this to pass. The citizens passed it once. They will pass it again. For those Christians that vote against it I feel for them because they have said they do not want California to live by God's standards.

I have been on the ORU campus lately. A lot of much needed repairs and upgrades are underway. I'm so glad for the changes that took place since Mart Green took over the school. The atmosphere has a lot more expectancy and the climate of fear is gone. The employees received raises not too long after he took over things at the school. From what I hear there is a lot more interaction with the teachers and students. As an alumni I'm glad for the changes that should have happened long ago. It's sad that it took a lawsuit like this to provoke them. There have been many lawsuits against ORU. Most of them did not become public because they were quickly settled. It appears that they were probably warning signs that were not recognized. At least this one did the job. I'm really proud of how things have changed at my alma-mater.

Update from the Tulsa World: The Eastern Oklahoma PCUSA group will not accept this settlement until some court definitetively says that the church belongs to the PCUSA.

So much for Christian love and unity. This appears to be typical of way too many denominations. They get money and power and want more. I do not remember if the denomination gave them any money for this church or not. Pooling resources is not enough of a reason for a church to sell their souls to denominations for them.

I have followed this story. I also remember when they built the building many years ago. The saddest thing is that a Christian group would become dictatorial as they have. The denomination is no longer Christian so you cannot expect Christian behavior from them. During a minister's conference the pastor of this church stated that they were telling the people to pray to the goddess Gaia or some other one. The pastors had enough and left. That money is a small price to pay to be rid of them. Sad to say when it comes down in many denominations they will only act Christian when you do what they want. If not they become vicious dogs using the mantra of 'doing the work of the Lord'.
This is the state of much of Christianity these days.

I'm in Tulsa but not a part of this congregation. A Methodist church offered to let the Kirk use their facility but it looks like they made their decision. They have a pretty large congregation with a lot of resources AND more importantly the passion to serve Christ. I'm sure that is such a small price to pay to have those heretics out of their hair. Thank God it will be over in a month. They can get on with the business at hand.
From my understanding this rule was snuck onto other legislation during Lyndon Johnson's administration. He did this because the head of a non-profit said something that he did not like. It has nothing to do with constitutional issues. He just wanted to stop free speech of individuals. This is an unconstitutional regulation. It is also not applied fairly. Nothing is done to black churches that freely speak out against Republicans but if someone said something against a Democrat the IRS was down their throats.
I pray to God that more preachers get bold enough to force the issue and that ADL will be successful.

The only poll that matters is on election day. I doubt very seriously that the vote swing is that different from the original vote that was tossed out at will. The people of CA do not want their votes thrown out anymore. Thank God where I live the vote for a constitutional amendment passed overwhelmingly. Our governor know better than to veto it because it had strong bi-partisan support. Christians will not vote themselves into their own persecution. It is about special rights for people because of behavioral choices while trouncing on the religious freedom of Christians.
Bishop Duncan ought to be rejoicing that he has been released from the prison of false doctrine. Thank God he is standing for right. The Bible says to leave and not listen to false teachers. I'm sure this could be a painful thing for him but he has just been set free to serve the Lord. Hopefully others that believe the Bible will leave on their one volition and let the TEC die a quicker death than it already is.

Over the years I had wondered what was going on with him. To my horror a friend of mine that read the Washington Blade sent me the link to that article last Friday. I was sad.
I worked with a local Exodus ministry a long time ago. I have also seen those that walked free for years, celebate and married. Any stronghold can be broken through consistent prayer and fasting. That is what it took for a good number of people that I saw set free. It is not helping that some segments of the church and our nation is not just tolerating this but accepting this.
This is a strong delusion/deception for sure. I will never forget a conversation with a fellow that would dress in drag (looked just like a gal) for Halloween. He worked nights but decided to take a vacation day to attend the support group. It would take too long to go into the details of that conversation. Basically he described a weekend in his life. The one thing he said. Homosexuality is deception. That was probably 15 years ago and I never forgot that conversation.
This is how sin gets everyone, no matter what it is. However I agree that this issue is an amazing stronghold that we are dealing with.
My hope is that he will run into someone that is anointed with the love and power of God to reach him and help him walk free. It is apparent that he has lost hope that he can change. Hopefully the Lord will reach him and let him know the path of freedom for him.

I recall a situation years ago. Somehow my email address was skimmed and I started getting spam that I did not want. At the time I was switching to another ISP. I will never forget sending an email out to my friends letting them know that I was switching to another ISP. Normally I would have both of them active for about a month to make sure that my friends had time to switch over.
One day I got an email on my old account that I knew was spam. I planned on just highlighting the entry and do an immediate delete by holding down shift-delete. Right when I highlighted the entry the script immediately opened the email. I saw the most disgusting vile porn. It was past gross. The ugly thing about it was that I could not close the email. It hijacked my computer. I could not do ctrl-alt-del. Nothing. I had to shut off my power strip to shut my computer off. Needless to say when I got my computer back on I immediately shut down that email account.
Who knows how many people get started into Internet porn through something like this. I was not seeking out that trash but it came to me anyway. Someone that is already toying with the idea could easily get enticed like this.
Almost every story I hear about people getting into stuff like this is that they stopped praying. It is easy for any of us to get so busy that we do not have that communion with the Lord on a regular basis. I know that temptation is harder to resist when I do not have consistent time with the Lord. It can happen to anyone. I'm sure it is easier for this to happen with famous people. Hopefully his marriage can be saved and that he seeks the Lord like never before. Mind renewal is not a quick process. The Lord is gracious to help him.

I will be watching this story. I have known people over the years that are members of the Kirk and love the pastors and the people. They are good people. When they upgraded their property is cost millions and millions of dollars. I do not remember the amount but I remember the building project. It would be an insult to try and sell the property back to them knowing how much they already paid for it. I do not know what they would do if they had that offer.
There is nothing in the word that supports denominations. They have been formed mainly because of disagreement of what the Bible says. The only distinctions I can find in there is where the church was located, not differences in doctrine. I know I have no plans to be a member of a church in a denomination again. However the Lord knows my future. I just see them as prison and control institutions. When corrupt leaders get a hold of the group they abuse the followers. They are a perfect setup for persecution for righteousness.

hierwin, I agree that worship teams as such are not clearly defined in the Bible. However I think you agree that worship is:) You can add youth ministry, children's church, family churches and the like.
Whether the PCUSA is the 'real' presbyterian church or not. The denomination here is in the USA is teaching that there are many ways to God. When a 'Christian' denomination asks the attenders of a leadership conference to pray to Gaia they have entered into heresy. This was the last straw for Pastor Tom. After that conference in 2006 he presented the situation to the people. First he and Pastor Hardy left the denomination. Then they asked if the congregation would leave. only a small percentage decided to stay with the denomination.
The Bible is clear about what people are to do when people deny that Jesus is the Christ or preach false doctrine. It says to flee, run or whatever a particular version of the Bible calls leaving or departing from them. The Kirk obeyed the Bible. Those that chose to remain went against the Bible.
The PCUSA may be the original church but they are no longer Christian.

I am not a member of the Kirk but live in Tulsa. I attended the vote they took to leave the PCUSA as a sister in solidarity for the courageous stand they took two years ago. I am saddened by this decision. Pastor Tom Gray said that they would rebuild if necessary when they first left the PCUSA. It is one of the largest presbyterian churches in Tulsa. The people really love their church and their pastors. They will get past this hopefully temporary setback. If my worship team was not singing tonight I would attend their mid-week service. This is not a presbyterian issue. This is a Christian issue. When others stand for the gospel against heresy I want to stand with them in heart and soul.

steven20 I agree about whether they should marry or not. I know of a couple that used to attend the church I am at. As a really new Christian at 17 she got pregnant by an older man. They got married I think after their first child was born at 19. They have been married for about 7 years. They have had two more children. She is absolutely miserable. She has no skills to get a real job. She has thought about leaving him because they are miserable. I do not know if he has run around on her but they constantly have financial problems because of gambling. I don't have children but I hope that they have checked this fellow out to see if he is marriage material. I would be concerned about it after seeing what has happened to this couple I know. They have moved out of town so I have lost touch with them but from what I heard it is going to be a long miserable experience for them and their small children.

If anyone thinks that the daughter is getting a free ride or being put on a pedestal they are sadly mistaken. Not only is she going to have to raise that child the next 20 years or so, she is being hypocritically vilified in the media by the very people that promote this sinful lifestyle and promote abortion. Maybe I know too many friends that have walked through this with their children as Christians. Many so-called Christian parents would have thrown their daughter out of the house, especially being in the public eye as her parents are. Other CHRISTIAN parents have pressured their daughters to have abortion. One woman I know was threatening to leave her CHRISTIAN husband for thinking about forcing their underaged daughter to have an abortion. Too proud to admit that their children are not perfect and are embarrassed at what other Christians will think of them.
I and thank God many sensible Christians are viewing this as an example of how Christian parents should walk their children through their mess. It is not an endorsement of the sin. It is showing the heart of God. Forgiveness for sin, admonish them not to do a repeat, ask for help along the way and receive it by His mercy.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
