Chris-n-AR wrote, "Dan: That book Overhauling of Straight America/After the Ball that you and philo have fallen in love with is little more than a coffee table accessory for most Gay people, if they even have a copy of it…" --- Regardless of whether they have read it or not, the tactics have been widely adopted by the gay community. When gays can't respond, resort to ad hominem innuendos. Instead of answering questions, deflect.

John, for the thousandth time, we see through the gay agenda manipulation. You can accuse Christians of all kind of things if you wish - your choice - we won't lose any sleep over it. One thing you cannot accuse us of: not proclaiming to you plainly the Word of God and the need to repent of sin.less

  • Apple Pulls 'Gay Cure' App; Accused of Religious Discrimination

gdbrown, you mention to MaxVertas his need of editing. Might you take your own advice? What you have written does not show me how The Overhauling of Straight America is a discredited source. Why is it you water down what gays say while at the same time claiming that Christian sources are dishonest? It seems to me that your bias is showing through very blatantly.

The same web site states in their statement of beliefs: "That freedom of speech is one of our most important rights. This includes the freedom to compare the beliefs of faith groups with each other, with the findings of science, and withinformation from other sources."

So the site he sends me to contradicts gdbrown's INTOLERANCE. Because he doesn't offer any counter-rebuttal to the points made in the slideshow I linked, I can only conclude he calls it dishonest because it contradicts his pro-gay, intolerant stand. Par for the course. Good night.less

So, if a Muslim shopkeeper rips me off, does that give me the right to go steal from a different Muslim shopkeeper? Of course not! Does your atheistic/agnostic religion have an ethical framework? My, my, GoodWife sure has an uptight codified system herself that she's in denial about, and she's "willing to fight at every turn." Um, I think I'll stick with my codified system - it's much less uptight. In any case, I bless you to have a good day, GoodWife, and hope you find peace.

    3) exaggerate or deflect from the question at hand when cornered

JB is using the old gay "let's reinterpret the Bible" tactic employed by fallen priest John McNeill's 1976 in his "classic," The Church and the Homosexual. A subsequent generation has picked up on this.

As Ronald G. Lee states: ...that book is like what "The Communist Manifesto" was to Soviet Russia. Most of the book is devoted to offering alternative interpretations of the biblical passages condemning homosexuality, and to putting the anti-homosexual writings of the Church Fathers and scholastics into historical context in a way that renders them irrelevant and even offensive to modern readers, couched in the language of scholarship, and they sounded plausible.

McNeill, like most of the members of his camp, treated the debate over homosexuality as first and foremost a debate about the proper interpretation of texts, texts such as the Sodom story in the Bible and the relevant articles of the Summa. The implication was that once those were reinterpreted, or rendered irrelevant, the gay rights apologists had prevailed, and the door was open for practicing homosexuals to hold their heads up high in church (instead of acknowledging their sin).less

JB repeats his repetitive mantra in a vain effort to justify his sin. “We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’” (Acts 26:14 NIV) Help is available in God's grace to repent.
