right after "Hear, O Israel, the Lord your God, the Lord is one" came:
    "The compassionate, the merciful"

which is a nice reference to the invocation at the beginning of every chapter of the Qur'an except one: Bismillah al-Rahman al-Rahim,
"In the name of Allah, the compassionate, the merciful."

    Making sure everyone feels welcome...

I don´t know if there were any and why they are "gone" -
but I do know that I can trust the bible 100 % without any human censorship of so called wise science. I am educated, questioning and not ignorant at all, this is what God calls us to do and why he gave us a brain - but - who am I to question God because I don´t have answers for all things I do not fully understand?
If scientists would run along with the bible instead of making up models of why it can not be true from the human point of view - I wonder if for example the pest (is this an english term) would have ever occured in this bible knowing world. The first books of the bible tell us what to do and how to behave in order to live together.
It´s all there and rejected by so heavyly clever people.

@cyberlizard: I can hardly believe what I read.

It is ok to burn the New Testament, because the world lived without it for years?

The way of salvation is written in the new testament only, where do you want to go without it?
The human life of Jesus is written in it just as well, how do you want to become like him, when you can not study him?
    This is so sad.

Benny Hinn? I can hardly believe to read this comment here.
A Man saying he was Jesus? A man judging his opponents and condemning their kids?

I more and more ask myself how much love God must have for human mankind to still give time and grace for a population filled up with lies and lies and more lies and blindness.
Praise the Lord for this love and patience.

He preached in his words, under his own authority.
This is the radical thing about it. This is what those men called blasphemy, this is what destroid theier authority based on tradition.

The Jewish rules allways related to some other rulers, just like in Catholic church today.
Putting earthly tradition above God himself.
Building up rules that people can not obey, instead of preaching freedom thrugh the Spirit.

His Cross made the difference, no rules needed to obey to achieve a cleared up relationship with God himself. Just to love God and believe in Him and throu him being filled up with the Holy Spirit to live a life according to the will of God.

    Too "simple" to believe...even today.

Jesus did not revolute against the Roman Empire.
He said clearly to give Caesar what belongs to him. He called out to obey the leaders of the Land and to pray for them. This is even what his judge statet when he was to be centenced: this man is not guilty.

All he did was teaching against the jewish Rulers who did everything but obeying God and the Bible. They came up with theier own teachings but obeying theier own rules.
They cared about themselves, not about God.
If they did, they would have clearly seen that the predictions of the old testament are fullfilled by Jesus Christ and this is whats going on today in Jewish Religion.
They do not see the truth right before theier eyes.

So the threat of his teachings was for them and for the devil, not for any political system.

He was teachning love above all. He explanied that love is the essence of the 10 commandments. And he was teaching him being the son of God to free from rules and to life a new life filled up with the Holy Spirit.

Nice comments. I recommend Lee Strobels Book called "A Case for a Creator" in which he interviews several serious and well known scientists. Some of them predicting that in 20 years we will look back asking ourselves how on earth we could ever belief in things like evolution.
Easy to read by with clear facts from serious scientists who answer hard questions on evolution.
By the way some of them are top of the rank scientists, who also appear on the list I mentioned recently. Scientist question evolution.

Get this book and find out out that science and God fit perfectly together and there is stil no room for evolution.

0-99 ticket stubs submitted = $5 per ticket stub
100-299 ticket stubs submitted = $1,000 donated to your school
300-499 ticket stubs submitted = $2,500 donated to your school
500 ticket stubs submitted = $5,000 donated to your school

so, why not, tracking schools to go. I don´t really see the problem, it´s just a way to track teachers to go there - for, if they all think like you - they are not really willing to seriously look behind different views and wont go. What if students then have questions the teacher can not answer, they might worry. I know more then one teacher who is in that problem here in my hometown. Having doubt in the evolution theory and no way out - here is a way and it is even paid well.

So keep on donating Ben, schools need the money and the education.

There are so many strong and clear evidences of the perfect and unique truth of Christianity and a perfect creator, that those who remain skeptical were said by the Apostle Peter to be "willingly ignorant" (II Peter 3:5), and by the Apostle Paul to be "without excuse" (Romans 1:20). The great king David concluded that only "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God" (Psalm 53:1), and wise king Solomon asserted that, "The fear of the Lord" is the very "beginning of knowledge" and "wisdom" (Proverbs 1:7; 9:10).

God is only as mighty as we let him be and we expect him to be - as much as this earth and our lifes are concerned.
If we don´t expect him to be allmighty and able to change us and things, he wont act.

I have no problems with science and the bible. Word for Word God made this earth and men.
No room for Microevolution and big bang stories, in my world and my picture of God.

Up to now there is no proof, just hints and enough antiproof for evolution and I´m not alone with this belief, just a minority.

My God is allmighty and absolutely able to create things we don´t understand and the devil is absolutely able to mess all of Gods Creation as much as we let him.

Not the US is in trouble, the whole world is. Look at health, food, money, war, environment, behaviour - look where ever you want and check what the bible says about the times we live in. WE left God be a nice man of fiction and undereducated subjects, but this will not let him disappear.
He will come and show who he is and what he is able to do. People open your eyes.
Mens wisdom is mens foolishness. What´s right today is wrong tomorrow, the only constancy can be found in the bible over hundrets of years revealed and messed up be clever people.

"...these are seperate theories all together. "

Big Bang explains its believers where the material came from that is supposed to be evoluted afterwards. To me this relation is quite clear, even though the theories don´t match, they have a common ground. No God needed, or allowed.
I can only repeat myself, why do you fight here for your thoughts?
What is it that drives you, engaging for this topic? Educating stupid Christians? There is no hope, I fear. All of these EvoBanging-Theories lack of proof. There is much to much lying and false or half information around it. But clear minded I can only reject all these theories.

Again, if I am wrong, who cares, but if you are you lose life.

Hey maybe you want to check out this christian research page. Take some of the information and check it with non believing information.
