  • Retired Science Teacher Seeks to Bar Evolution from Classrooms

Wow, this is the best argument I have ever heard for tort reform. It will be hard to find a lawsuit more frivolous than this one.

When it comes to other side i.e. ID there are a few words that come to mind - drivel, hogwash, nonsense to name a few. A fairy tale for religionists and evangelical theologian suckers. How can I put it - nicely?

  • Pro-Life Activist Insists Seriousness of Presidential Run

Terry may be serious about running for president, but that is not important. What is important is how many people will take him seriously, and that will be an exceedingly small number.

  • Celebrating Dr. King

"....our laws must always reflect God's Law." I was and remain a supporter of what the Rev. King attempted to accomplish in the US. But those words could have just as easily - and probably - have been spoken by Taliban leaders. I will take my chances with laws made by a secular government.

  • Justice Department Submits 'Deficient' Appeal to Challenges Against DOMA

DP - I am enjoying the statistics from the website you suggested. Seems like Massachusetts with its gay marriage and low divorce rate ranks pretty low when it comes to weekly church attendance. It is way down at 48th of 51. Arkansas, with its high divorce rate also ranks high, 6th our of 51 in church attendance. Maybe avoiding going to church weekly will help reduce the divorce rate.

DP- Thanks for your help. proving my point. The website you suggested makes Massachusetts in particular look even better compared to other states. Mass comes in tied at 46th place among the states with a low divorce rate of 2.5% At the top are Arkansas, Alabama and Tennessee with rates of 6.2%, 5.4% and 5.1%. So thanks again.

Hmm. Not that strong. Massachusetts has one of the lowest divorce rates in the country. The high rates of divorce - the ones with the less stable family environments - are the ones most opposed to equal marriage rights for all, gay and straight. And until proof of fertility is required for all before marriage, the argument about producing children simply does not hold water.less

The results of the survey are hardly surprising. Even a casual reading of comments and articles here make it very clear there is no agreement of who or what a Christian is. I am willing to bet that the pastors surveyed would say 40% or less of the other survey respondents are Christians.

Think for a minute and disregard the fear mongers. Half the people in the US are not illegal aliens. Think what would happen if you got your wish and there were 288 million illegal aliens in the country. With have the population deported the economy would collapse and never recover in your or any other living person's lifetime. There would not be anywhere near the necessary labor force and the consumer market would be devastated. Fortunately the real number is less than 10% of the foolish number you believe it to be.less
