criterion said:"You're being dishonest. Even religious scientists would call you a liar."
I am a sinner, no question. That is the first step to salvation to acknowledge me being a sinner. Secondly, most scientific "evidence" concerning macro evolution and the evolution of the universe are all based on assumptions. Assumptions are not factual.

"Your magical creator requires faith because it doesn't have one shred of evidence. But this is a bit off-topic. I'm more interested in the very poor scientific literacy in this country."
It requires faith to believe that the earth was formed on the back of crystals or that some man assumes that the earth is 4.4 billion years old based on assumptions. It also requires to believe that God is who He was and who He ever will be because that is what His word tells us.
The poor scientific literacy is due to the fact that science still can not answer questions that God has the answers to.

criterion wrote:"Scientists like to say there nothing proven in science because it's always possible new evidence will require old ideas to be modified or thrown out. But some ideas have so much evidence that it becomes ridiculous to say they are not facts. Those facts include our planet's orbit around the sun, the more than four billion year age of the earth, and the evolutionary relationship of all living creatures."
Science has led more to the fact that there is a Creator and that we are very much spiritual beings created for His purpose. The problem with anyone that denies the existence of God is they are spiritually unable to understand the truth of God because they deny Him by their own free will.
1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

"The Religious Institute released an open letter that maintains that abortion is a “morally justifiable decision” that should be left to women to decide."
Just what is a "morally justifiable decision"? I believe God makes it very clear that we should not murder. It amazes me to see those who claim to know the Lord Jesus Christ and yet they deny Him by their words and deeds. These statements by a "Religious Institute" bring to light God's word.

"One thing I can test and predict is that glacial cycles going back 800,000 years can be tied in with various variables"
Opinions are based on variables and assumptions as clearly as Milankovitch based his mathematical variables and assumptions that the earth is ex-number of years old. No living man or any scientific formula contrived by man can accurately predict the origin of this universe. These assumptions only rely on the assumptions of the beginning of creation with no clear starting point.
A Biblical view of creation has a starting point and stands alone as having any credibility that can explain the very existence of our universe. Science has shown me the very evidence of a fossil record that was created by catastrophic event depicted in the Bible as a global flood. When will the people of this earth come to realize the Almighty God who clearly shows His glory in His creation?
The answer to this is in the Holy Bible which stands the test of time itself. God forgive us for our turning our hearts and eyes from You.
Romans 1:18 18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. 20 For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, 21 because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things.

The truth of the Gospel is Christ Himself. We are to give up our own lives to glorify the Lord. The problem with the prosperity message is that it is not what God intended for our lives. It is blessings that God will give to those who are faithful to His Word.

After reading this article I begin to see what Paul was illustrating in his letter to Timothy(2Timothy 3).
The issue of homosexuality and same-sex marriages in this era of our lives is evident in these scriptures. We want a God we want, and not a God who is. We as followers of Jesus Christ are to love everyone. I know several people who are gay and i love them. What I do not love about them, is their sin of homosexuallity. When we start to tolerate sin in our lives, we are saying that God is tolerant of sin. When a gay person believes that homosexuallity is not a sin, they are saying God is wrong. If they say they are gay and want to repent of their sin of sexuality, they are saying God is right. As you read further into Paul's letter to Timothy, you come to chapter 4 where Paul urges Timothy to preach the Word and warn him where there will come a time when people will not endure sound doctrine, but will live to their own desires.
I pray the Holy Spirit guides everyone to the truth of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and that we all turn form our sins and repent and turn to Him for our salvation.

If Tim Tebows heart is for the Lord, then what he did was what we are all called to do as followers of Jesus Christ. We must glorify His name.
What do we know of how the Lord is working in this display of faith? It was for His glory and that is what matters. Each one of us who calls Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior recognizes the fact that we can not live without Him. We have all fallen short of His glory. I pray that this demonstration of Gods Word represented by a young man of faith brought at least one person to salvation. Because we all need a Savior, and it can be found in only one name and that name is Jesus Christ.

Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

It takes faith to write John 3:16 under your eyes, especially in front of an international audience. If Tim Tebow’s heart is for the Lord, then what he did was what we are all called to do as followers of Jesus Christ. We must glorify His name.

1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. 5 But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

(Matthew 4:4)Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.
