The sun is the powerhouse of the earth's climate but did you know that we are currently in the deepest solar sunspot minimum since the Maunder Minimum of the 18th century that spawned the "little ice age"? Did you know that the solar wind is currently at the lowest level since it was measured? Did you know the sun has been putting out record levels of cosmic rays? No one knows what this means but for those things we understand we know the last time they happened we got really cold on this planet. Our climate reasearchers and weather guessers can't tell you what the weather will be next month with any degree of certainty, but we are to believe forecasts for fifty hears hence?
