It is no wonder views of so many young people are different from the "traditional" right. Thank the Lord they are! I can remember as a child growing up as a young white person in a white community how blacks were treated. Especially by "most" traditional whites. Prejudice was rampant and condoned by traditionals. We, as Christians, spend so much time making sure everyone knows what we are against but do they know what we are for? I am in charge of outreach ministry at my church. Do you have any idea how many times when we visit the homeless, the abused, the forgotten we hear again and again, what organization are you from. When we tell them a church, they say "oh another church". Why do they say that? Because so many Christians have been so arrogant and pompous (like the pharisees and the saducees with their noses so high in the air and so afraid that someone "dirty" may touch them). Think about it, how many of today's churches would even let Jesus into their doors if he looked and "smelled" like a homeless person. Would you sit beside him?
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
