Well let's look at prayer in America. There are a number of great prayer ministies in our country such as IHOP in Kansas City which is a 42/7 prayer center, are other like IHOP. There are numerous small groups paying weekly and new ones starting up all the time.

As a whole I would have to agree that for the most part American Chritsians do not know what the effctual fervent prayer life even means much less doing it. I do not mean this a slam against the american church because I am a part of it. What I do see is that the church in America has no iidea what kind of prayer is needed to get teh job done and this is due too the American culture. We live in a country where the way to become wealthy is by playing the lottery or going to Vegas. We want everyyhing right now and our culture is willing to accomodate us for the buck! I know of churches in my area that have thousands on sundays but can't get more then 30 or 40 out to a prayer meeting. That tells me that our nation as a whole thinks of prayer not in a long term committment but if it does not happen right now I'll look for other ways to get it. We are the mile wide, inch deep, part of the church. The late Dr. Kennedy said not all that long ago, that in the American sector of the Christian Church, there are probably more unsaved people then saved. Maybe that is the reason for our prayer weakness!

I used to be very vocal against the copelands and other Word Faith ministries, until I began to listen to others that are very vocal. God corrected me on my attutude towards them and continures to deal with me. Why is it that some would rather side with the world then with other Christians. I know what they believe and I disagree strongly with it, but from experience, you will never change people fighting them. When we help the world come against Christians, we are in trouble. I doubt that those that cry the loudest againt the Copelands, most likely have not even prayed for the iin any way. Two years ago, I was diagnosed with Parkinson's and I filled out a prayer request form on kcm.org and I cannot tell you the amount of quality resources that came to me without asking for them. I did not know they were sending anything and they have been the biggest souce of help and encouragement to me. I know they have some wrongs areas, but so do tehones with a severe attitude problem. Not all that long ago, The Worl Wide Church Of God went though drastic changes with their doctrine and that did not come about because of people hammering them. We are supposed to even love our enemies! Let's try being correct with our doctrine with a heart full of love.
