Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)

Not to forget golfing, small groups and spiritual socializing, worship of rock music, small group self help and psychology, some of the courses for pay and under secular shrinks. Lots of good business and connections for preachers who are actually paid consultants, thou not good enough to be self-employed, and members who want to use naive sheep for their goods and services. And of course don't admit the really needy, sick, broken-hearted, thirsting of God's word.
Maybe Christian news should keep reporting on Christian congregations or add fine print like: This report does not pertain to a biblical church, to avoid confusion. But then little would be left for Christian reporting.
A church that slams a brother in the faith and refuses help, even a lower job, to the person who founded the church which now caters to 10.000 and secures too-well-paid jobs for the many staffers, most of whom got hired by Ted H. It's a shame, it's today's Western church in action, it's not Christian. Even less biblical Megachurches would treat people a bit differently. Those overseers have proven wolves in sheeps clothing. Forcing him into secular counseling, while most of them would stop preaching the moment the paycheck doesn't arrive. They better stop preaching their lies anyway.
Disney is not really family-friendly, and far from Bible-oriented. A couple of good works here and there don't change the basic direction.

Isn't CNN the channel that substituted news with spectacular pictures (less comment for better info)? And reporters with well-groomed camera stares. Cosmetics count more than journalism, of course.

Let Bill and his four meagre points in his grave. Take the Bible for a change. Be youth with life, not some misunderstood short-sighted tourism-style commission. Who will take responsibility for all those decision cards without faith?

Congregations that gather for entertainment, seeker-sensitive promotional staff...will either lose the pastor due to lack of prayer, or their faith entirely. Back to business, youth camps with rock music, Sundays with rock music, small groups with loads of entertainment. And a nice paycheck for all the pastors who dont get the meaning of the word "pastor".
Preaching the word of God (if anyone cares for that) is certainly NOT about being hot outwardly, being photogenic or attractive in human eyes. The Whites got a step closer to losing it all. With all TV looks, perks, jetting around and money flow, it's hard to find the calm to reflect on what God might want to say. But there are tens of thousands who want exactly that: couch potatoes who never kneel down in prayer, dreaming about their version of prosperty to come true, cheering on where there is no word of God, no life, emptiness.

Another church imitating the world.
Cut ties with Jesus, or with the world.
God doesn't need bands or gangs of secular musicians to work the work of His Holy Spirit.
The Old Testament is not exactly non-Christian.
If it goes on like that, one day the USA will be led by a gay president plus a liberal majority. Chickens as politicians, sissies as public servants, hypocrites as "believers", gay pride as national laws. Good night folks.

No wonder really, if even so-called Christian leadership (Episcolpalian, Lutheran among others) condone homosexual among their leaders and teachers.
Times won't be easier, better prepare our children straight from the Bible.

As to not oversimplify the Christian faith:
James 2:20
"But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?"
Let him who has ears listen.

"received permission from the Willow Creek Association not to show the Carter interview "...did Hybels get paid for giving that permission?
Since when is Habitat for Humanity a substitute for Christ's work on earth, His commission and His indwelling in the church. While we are at it, celebrate humanity, no need of celebrating Jesus.
Please Bill, don't call willow creek church. It's a building and promotional project that draws money from its poor, i.e. spiritually impoverished, members.

Whose words, ah, the apostle Paul's: "Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God."
Actually, not only homosexuals are warned.
Jesus did not have to teach about homosexuality, it was not existent among his disciples. It crept into the church, probably due to lack of warning and teaching, so the good old Paul made a few things clear after the church grew.

Criticizing the teachings and public associations of Hybels or the pope is not criticizing brothers in Christ, for they left the brotherhood of faith a good while ago. Sure Gandhi was a nice and peaceful man, but he denied Christ, for whatever good reason, and that makes him alien to Jesus. Sure Bill is a good administrator, but maybe he should have stayed with business administration. Sure helping the poor is a great thing, but no Christian needs words other than Christ's to aid the poor.
Those who associate with that kind of faith will not realize when the landslide comes.

An alliance... hope they are allied to God and His word. Negotiating with gov'ts is nice, but praying to their God and helping each other in daily circumstances might be more pressing than organizing organisations and negotiations. What can a laid-back organisation offer a battle-hardened church? How to become organized and laid-back? Or bring Sodom to the church in Iraq? Episcopalians and Lutherans are working on it.

That was the Afghan side. What will the Koreans do... Remove all aid workers? Cancel missionary work, if any? Recall the 200 military engineers? Send a battalion? Forbid all travel to Afg.? Leave, and return later, as the ambassador said? Continue contradicting themselves, I guess. Talk about the Afgan and Iraq abductees for a change, and the real Christian martyrs, as in China and North Korea.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
