"We are a church committed to congregations being vital, growing centers of evangelical mission."
Oh yeah? Let's see...how's that working for the UCC, the most liberal with respect to homosexuality? They are the fastest declining denomination this year. How's it working for the Episcopalians? They were last year's fastest declining and will most likely be next year's when the exiting of the four dioceses is taken into account. How's it working for the Lutheran churches of Northern Europe. Let's look at church attendance:
Country - National attendance - Percent of religious attendees as Lutheran:
Iceland - 4% - 82%
Sweden - 4% - 87%
Finland - 4% - 84.2%
Norway - 5% - 85.7%
Denmark - 5% - 95%
The die is now cast. Conservative, Biblically faithful Christians will leave, emboldening liberals to embark in new heresies, causing more conservatives to leave, etc.

Spin, spin, spin. Jesus said "Let your 'yes' be yes, and your 'no' be no. Anything else is of the evil one."
Gulick bishop of Kentucky and the rump diocese of Fort Worth said that the moratorium is still in place until they elect a homosexual bishop. This is basically equivalent to a revised wedding vow: "I promise to be faithful until I am not."
The liberal bishop of Olympia who voted for both resolutions said this: "this resolution does, in fact, open up access once again to gay and lesbian people, to the discernment process for the episcopate. To interpret this any other way would be dishonest."
Conclusion: their 'yes' doesn't mean yes and they are of the evil one.

One can read the testimonies on various blogs. The theological discussion is basically nil. It is all, "I knew a lesbian couple who were really sweet." and "I knew this boy who was gay and no one liked him.", etc.
Gene Robinson announced that when people ask whether the Episcopal denomination is the "gay church" people should proudly respond, "You bet it is!"
It certainly is becoming that. Unfortunately, there is already a gay church - The Metropolitan Community Church. It has about 50,000 members and is DECLINING. The TEC had 2.1 million. Maybe when all is said and done, the MCC and TEC will have 20,000 each.
Down the tubes.

Comment keeps getting cut off. Try one more time:
The Presiding Bishop's ignorance of the Bible and Christian theology is nothing short of breathtaking the Dean of Moore College in Sydney, Dr Mark Thompson told Religious Intelligence.

She had the worst population adjusted membership numbers as bishop of Nevada (99th out of 99), so it is hardly a surprise she is a disaster as presiding bishop.
It is interesting that she describes as heretical the belief that one is saved outside of a community, but she has denied the Christian church is unique (that's putting God "in a small box"). I guess one simply needs to be part of a group, any group: Muslims, Rotarians, Philatelists, etc.
Some remarks about her latest display:

Flagged as inappropriate. show You cannot fight this alone. One of the most discouraging things for a Christian is to be stuck in a cycle: sin, repent, repeat. You must have a friend who you can bare your soul and know that if you fall, you WILL confess to your sin, no matter how embarrassing. Porn causes impotence. I don't think that the rise of porn and the popularity of erectile dysfunction drugs are unrelated. hide

And how insulting that Trump and his minions try to say it wasn't about her traditional values. Yeah, right.

Text message from Miss Prejean to the pageant director, Mr. Lewis, "What are u gonna do fire me for volunteering for the special olympics hahaha ur crazy No I am doing this appearance. You do not need details. Its for the SPECIAL OLYMPICS!!! You just need to know I will be doing it alright."
This guy objected to her appearing at the Special Olympics? He wanted more details? It's the Special Olympics, for Pete's sake. Is he not familiar with the organization?
This is clearly railroading. They were gunning for her. Trump couldn't fire her before lest it look too political, even for Trump. But wait a few weeks and eponymously trump up some charges, then fire her. I hope that Carrie sues the pants off.

"And more importantly, the issue of homosexuality is not even on his agenda, he said as he declined to comment on the recent Iowa Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex marriage."
Not on the agenda? Why not? The biggest threat to Christianity is the "gay is OK" toxin. It has literally wiped out Christianity in Northern Europe. In this country, we have seen large declines of people identifying them as Christians. Those denonimations that have bought into the "gay is OK" line are the ones being crushed. The Episcopalians were last year's fastest declining. This year it is the UCC. The Presbyterians and the Methodists are seeing large declines as well to the same degree of their liberalization.
The evidence is clear: if you want to kill your church, start blessing homosexuality in defiance of Scripture.

"Only people can leave" said Ms Schori. Please could you cite from the constitution and canons? No? I thought not becuase the C&C is entirely silent on the subject.
But she once again denied that Jesus is the only path to salvation:
"In response to a question, Jefferts Schori said that to insist Jesus is the only way to God is to "limit God." She said that God is certainly at work in the lives of people in Jewish and Muslim communities."
There are apparently ONE PARISH AND THREE MISSIONS for this "diocese." That's a diocese? Apparently, Ms Schori arrived with her check book to keep the nano-diocese alive. Why? There must be a local representative to carry out her ungodly lawsuits.
I really would like to know from the locals on how they feel being used as pawns for Ms Schori's lawsuits.

The bishops are now trying desperately to spin this travesty. I am pleased to see the public press not buying it. Bp Briedenthal of S. Ohio offered this:
- What our guests were asking of us was clarity about two things: (1) the bishops interpretation of B033, the 2006 General Convention resolution regarding the election of partnered gay bishops, and (2) the bishops current approach to the blessing of same-sex unions. -
No, the primates of the world wide Anglican Communion asked for moratoria on these actions as well as a very specific proposal to provide alternative oversight for the orthodox. Then we have the remarkable blithe statement:
- The statement that we produced is our attempt to answer those two questions succinctly and transparently. We have said nothing new. -
I couldn't agree more with the "nothing new" part.
