Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
Most Christians who love the story, seem to love it because it shows that God can do anything, and be anything He wants to be, to anyone. My reaction to these ideas is given in the form of a question:, Can God lie? Can God sin? Can God be or do anything that goes against His nature? Chuck Colson is right, we need to go to the Bible to know who God truly is, and if we feel compelled to read the book, "The Shack", we should do so with the understanding that it is a piece of fiction, nothing more. (And, by the way, I have read the book though based on the fact that the book leans toward being theological in nature, I don't think it's necessary to read it in order for theologians to comment on it)

I find it fascinating that Mormons are so eager to be declared another "sect" of Christianity when their own teachings point to Christian sectarianism as the evidence of its falseness as a church of Christ today.
Also, President Hinckley himself boldly stated in his book, "Who Are The Mormons", that Mormonism has nothing in common with evangelical or protestant Christianty. The truth of the matter is the Mormon Church teaches its people that they are the only true Christians, a claim that is quite exclusive. Since they cannot be taken seriously as Christians, they hope to at least be considered a part of, and one with, the historical orthodox Christian Church. Their goal (for now) is to be sectarian.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
