When the meteorologists in Denver can ACCURATELY predict a local forecast, I might then give more credence (above the stewardship idea) to the whole Global Warming thing. Until then, if the fundamental science is bad, how can the advanced, more in depth science be any good?

I'm thankful that someone in TEC gets it! I wish Ms. Redding all the best in her faith journey and admire the "scholarship" she has pursued thus far. However, that search is not something that should be done while wearing a collar. She either didn't pay attention in Seminary or didn't "get it" in the first place. I wish her all the best in her journey, but am thankful she will not continue that journey at the helm of a Christian congregation, celebrating Eucharist or performing her clerical responsibilities! Way to go Bp. Wolf!

MEGS - thanks for sharing your story!! God Bless you and those He puts in your path to minister to as he redeems your pain and uses it for His glory! I'm the one who had 2 Miscarriages/Missed Abortions. I had serious pain meds and general anesthetic and I was in a lot of pain. I can only imagine how horrible your experience was - especially as far along as you were! I'm with you on hearing someone's fabulous story about their abortion experience! The Libs who are perpetuating these lies of "freedom" are just really enslaving women into a life of the tortured hell that is the post-abortion life. Makes those legislators feel "good" about their ability to "set people free" or so they think. True freedom comes with serious responsibilities. Abundant rights without the responsibilities of freedom creates enabled, enslaved masses.....a so the liberal cycle perpetuates! God forgive us!

Here is what I find interesting about the "medical" side of abortion: I've heard all these stories about abortions gone bad by licensed, regulated doctors who "provide safe services" for women so they don't die in a back alley somewhere, yet these horror stories still remain... Once again the pro-choice camp wants us to believe that the medical community is upholding the hypocratic oath here, when clearly they are not.
I've had 2 miscarriages that due to medical complications were "removed" by a procedure called a "D & C". This is basically the same procedure involved in abortion. Only difference is that my children were already dead. for both of these procedures they were done in a hospital surgical suite and I was put under a general anesthetic for my emotional and physical safety - so that physically, if there was a complication it could be handled and I would not be traumatized emotionally by the procedure! So kind of the medical community to do all in its power to care and comfort me once my child was already dead. The hospital auxiliary and a local mortuary provided cremation services and a communal crypt! My children died at only 10 and 13 weeks gestation , but they can't afford the same mercies to those they claim they are providing necessary and beneficial services for.... alleviating the oppression of women! Seriously?!?!!? This country is wacked!

The euphemisms abound in this article. The word "cancel" is huge. While he won't come outright and say "kill" it is implied. The work of God that he does is when he plays the role of God and determines who lives and who dies. He's not saying that his work is "God ordained", but rather he has a very clear understanding that what he does is NOT what God wants a Doctor to be doing. Sounds to me like someone's conscience is getting the best of his "success" as a doctor, money in the bank and notoriety that have come with living by the world's standards. Instead of bashing this guy, we need to be praying that God will continue to soften his heart. This man has a serious platform for reform, if his heart changes....start praying fellow believers!

The issue with KJS isn't that she's a woman....its that she is totally unqualified for the job! Anyone see her curriculum vitae before she got this gig???? Come on! She never served as a Rector of an Episcopal church and now she's running the whole shebang! In Christ, there is no male or female, however, in leadership there are definite requirements and required fruit for the qualifications.....
This broad (uncomfortable) spectrum of anglicanism is quickly putting itself out of business. In my diocese were closing 6 churches this year....in the name of honoring the life cycle of a congregation.....please! People want JESUS not an organization!!!!
The problem is, regardless of how you interpret scripture, Jesus is not the focus! As the ABC says, "evangelism is imperative".....that's not happening because there is no clear message of what we're supposed to share...Jesus, Pagan rituals, Humanism....no one will evangelize until they understand and believe in what the cause is.
Sheesh....okay, off my soapbox now....

While I am overjoyed at this ruling, I am so sick and tired of the AP reporting the conservative side of this thing as so anti-gay! I'm sorry, but this issue is so much bigger than a gay bishop! This division and potential schism has to do with the authority of scripture, the divinity and humanity of Christ and whether or not he is the way, the truth and the life. The liberal media just continues to depict this as a "gay issue" when it is not!
In general, Episcopalians are not homophobes and aren't out to persecute homosexuals, but rather we are God-fearing, Bible reading saved sinners who are fighting for our church which appears to be hijacked by closed-minded, pseudo-liberals who don't have a clue about what scripture even says!
Jesus Come Quickly!
I love these creationism vs. evolution debates...as an intellectual, they challenge me in new ways. However, as I sat in my MOPS group the other day, it hit me......If Darwin was correct than why is it that women who have children still only have 2 hands and 2 eyes and post partum depression is on the rise? So, in all my intelligence, the reality smacks me in the face daily as I chase my toddlers around......my body hasn't evolved to help me handle the tasks at hand, however, my awareness for my need of my Lord and Savior has increased....so who is really behind this whole gig?
Until I grow 2 more arms and eyes, I have to figure there is some greater intelligent design to all this. Genesis 1 may or may not be taken literally, but in my experience, God gives me the knowledge that I can handle until I'm ready to "discover" more intellectually.
Let the debates continue....

From both the religious and cultural standpoints, this could be interesting....If nothing else, teaching about the cultural traditions of each religion would help a whole lot with the ideas of understanding and compassion. I would love for those who share my cultural associations with Christianity to understand that when they claim to be "Christian" more often than not they are referring to their cultural background, not their religious faith. There is a huge difference in this country between claiming Christ as Lord and Savior vs. Claiming Christian traditions and ethics...this seems to be where we get into trouble. Maybe putting a cultural context around different faiths would help remove volitility surrounding the "tolerance" movement.
"because we are called to be led by what our hearts witness led by the spirit, not regulation."
Feet - what Bible are you reading? We are called to test (discern) all that we witnes, by the spirit, thru the lens of scripture...not on our hearts or feelings. If we, as Christians, were to follow our feelings/hearts/what feels right to us, then Jesus never would have made it to the cross....He didn't "feel" like being crucified..but he knew with his heart and his mind that this was his Father's Will....

If the author of this article had really done her homework, she would have learned that the proposed Ugandan boycott really has very little to do with whether or not V.Gene Robinson is in attendance or not. The boycott is rooted in the very real division in The Episcopal Church (the U.S. branch of the Anglican Communion) and thus the AC about the authority of scripture and the divinity of Christ.

What in the world is the church in business for if it isn't to go out and evangelize to the lost?!?!!? Do they remember who the lost are? Not just the upstanding Brooks Brothers dressed tax attorney or CEO...come on people!
So, since Amy Grant and Vince Gill have shown their personal need for salvation by actually being human and sinners (btw, they were long before they were a couple), does this completely negate or invalidate any witness they may provide? I don't get this! The God that loves me uses my failings for Good and for His purposes! (Rom. 8) Do you realize that Oprah reaches millions of people - many who may have no idea who Amy Grant is? Someone might do a google search on her, listen to her music and be moved to learn more about Christ. Who are we to judge what good God may or may not do thru them?!
FYI - Part of the demise of the Grant/Chapman marriage was Gary Chapman's addiction to drugs.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
