Hosea 4:6

So many arguments. So many premises. So many words. In the end, too many of us who define ourselves as Christians are Scripturely illiterate and prayer free. We apply human trappings to Jesus like unbelievers, and thus cannot state the truth of who He was and is. Truly tragic for the Christian faith and the world.
I see massive confusion here in these comments.
Over the last several years too many "Christians" have delved in politics. The end result is the Iraq War, etc. Jesus said that His Kingdom is not of this world. Yes, vote for whomever you want, but as Christians we must be careful whom we vote for. I would rather not vote at all rather than vote for someone who pretends to be Godly or doesn't understand what Godliness is, and then in the end with my vote and endorcement I have a hand in bring more sin and suffering in to the world.
Politics is dirty business. We present day Christians need to understand this like some in earlier generations did.
Sorry, another correction. You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free. My typing and editing is terrible sometimes.
Correction, since below was my first comment here. I find the comment BELOW mine offensive and unChristian.
I find the above comment offensive and unChristian because I do not fit the stereotype of the lazy black. I EARNED my degrees. I have lived and taught abroad, something that most white Americans as well as blacks have never done.
I agree with Mr. Connor that there should be constructive dialogue. However, all the problems in the African-American community should not be blamed on America's past history, ie. drug abuse, teen pregnancy, high male incarceration rates, high illegitimacy. These come from the hip hop subcultural mentality and just plain ole sin.
Jesus told hard truths that many could not stomach. In fact, the entire Bible concerns the truth. History is a huge part of Scripture. History is important. Americans must face up to our history not only about African-Americans, but Native Americans as well. Whitewashing history (no pun intended) is not the way to go.
You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you feel.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
