That wasn't aimed at you believer. I usually respect what you say (unless it has to with the Bible, God, or any other myths - then, I just respect your right to say it - no offense) It was for Rolln4him.

Was I close at all? I can't decide whether you belong to an obnoxiously big megachurch or some wierd cult-like chapel with like 10 members.

"interesting thing about heathens like you is that your way of measuring others is through values like intelligence, wealth, education"
LOL. And you measure others by the opposite of those values? stupidity, poverty, and ignorance?

Bonehead? I liken Biblical literalists to non-thinking subhumans with an IQ just above sand or asphalt. Think about how stupid your statement is: There is a place deep within the pits of the Earth where souls spend an enternity in perpetual torment. Their tormenter is an "evil," red-horned beast with goat-like legs who was created by a "good" superhuman but the goat-like man-beast decided to rebel against the "good" superhuman even the though the "good" superhuman knew the goat-beast was going to rebel. So, the "good" superhuman created this evil place (or was it the goat-man?) in the center of the Earth where he tossed in the goat-man and all the other people who rebel against him on Earth (even though he knows who is going to rebel against him before they are born which begs the question why allow them to live in the first place) Yeah...that really happens.

No. I also can't prove that green hippos orbit far off planets. Some questions are so stupid, they are not worth asking. Bottom line: there is no hell...or heaven for that matter.

Ukelelemike - answer me this. Why did your personal diety, who apparently looks human and equipped with a super-human brain, create the universe in the first place knowing exactly how the story would end? Was it for entertainment? Out of boredom? Was this omnipotent, all-powerful super-creature craving a little worship; a little love? Seems odd doesn't it? Now back to my point: people kill each other in the name of this non-entity. Not to mention, groups of people in this country (gays and lesbians) are not equal in this country in the name of this non-entity.

Why do you Christians quote the Bible as a source of "evidence?" It's not evidence, it's noise. Unless you can prove the Bible is true which is a truly absurb endeavor.

Artm - there is no hell. It's sad you live your life in fear of non-existence hocus pocus.

The most immoral people I've ever met are Biblical literalists: unenlightened, the enemies of tolerance, peace, and knowledge, while still smuggly convinced of their godliness. As someone who knows that all religions and gods are simply inventions of a frail and delusional mind, it's gutwretching to know that people die over these myths.

Then we might have to agree to disagree on that. Like I said before, separate but equal is usually code for unequal. And my relationship isn't merely a contract, it's a marriage. Either or, I hope you can appreciate that what happaned in CA will provoke a deeply personal and emotional response. We are talking about people's lives, their loves, and their dignity as human beings. I'm not a very sentimental person but I cried like a baby alone in my living room when this happened. It's probably tough for you to understand.

I know you did but it still read it as insensitive. Like I said, you are entitled to your beliefs (i.e. acting upon your same-sex attraction is sinful because of what is written in Romans and Leviticus). But you have to accept that this is not a theocracy and I do not accept nor believe in your texts or dogmas. I think dogma is the enemy of reason. Anyway, all I want is to live in peace and have my relationship subject to the same laws that govern your relationship. Also, I want my own gay brothers and sisters to be able to serve proudly and openly in the army (as many do). I don't want people to kill them, hurt them, or ridicule them. Basically, I want equal protection and rights under the law.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
