Well, no one has said it better than usaindia:
"I lived in India for some time & have been in & out of the country many times. I can say w/little doubt that the big extrvagansas that the American Tele-vangelists put on is actually more of a distraction to the gospel & does little to spread the gospel to the unreached of India.
These big shows put on by Benny Hinn, Joyce Meyer , & their like rarely ever attract unreached Hindus, Sikhs, or Muslims. But the great expense that is spent on putting on the "show" does convince radical hindu groups that American Christians are rich & are using their money to bribe the lower castes to become Christians."
And of course these ministries ARE rich and use these events for publicity to make themselves richer by getting gullible Chrisians here to give them more money.

We must remember the Biblical principle that we reap what we sow.
I believe it was wrong to invade and that it would be just as wrong to abandon the mess we have made.
This was not a just war, despite all the noted evangelical leaders that wrote to Pres. Bush telling him it was so. It grew directly out of our arrogance of power--certainly not a Christian trait.

If we went back only a couple decades, who woud have belileved such things would be happening today? This is the result of our tax dollars at work in the public schools and Universities. An entire generation has been brainwashed to view homosexuality as 'normal.'
Unless more Christians are bold and speak out about this issue what kind of churches and country will our children and grandchilldren find?
But, sadly, some Christians who speak out do not follow Christ's commands. We must be crystal clear that this is an abomination while speaking the truth in love.
Well, Mr. Tooley, despite your tunnel vision and complaining that the pastor did not take the Palesitnians to task, maybe you will remember Jesus ' teaching about taking the beam out of your own eye first.
It seems that the only word read in Martin Marty's piece was the word 'Mormon."
This essay was about Christian behavior, NOT Mormon beliefs. (And I do believe that it is a false religion built upon lies, as clear evidence shows.)
And the sad part is that many Christians do not ACT like Christiians.
We would all do well to remember the wisdom of Luther who said that he would rather be ruled by a competent Turk than an incompetent Christian.
What hath Urim and Thummim to do with Marty's essay???
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
