This could well backfire in their faces. The church only grows stronger in persecution.
As far as the church not being involved in politics . The same people who make up the church make up the voting public. Just as liberals vote their conscience conservative church people vote theirs. We don't have to have a building to be a church , in fact the true church has nothing to do with a building and we still vote.

"he immaculate conception is the RC doctrine that Mary was conceived with out original sin "
No, It has always been my understanding that Jesus is the immaculate conception.

"why men even think they get a say in this matter!!"
WHY? because there has been only one immaculate conception! It takes two to make a baby and the father should have as much say as the women. If a man is ok to sleep with he should be ok to take care of his child and given the chance to keep the child. I am an adoptive mother and would have loved to have a newborn. As it turned out I got 3 ages 8,9, and 11. I live in a small town and every day you will see ad's in the paper by couples who want to adopt. Abortion is unnecessary!

The Spirit of Christ is alive and well in the heart of every born-again believer in this country as well as the rest of the world. If you think you can stop God by taking down a cross from a hill top, I have a bridge I'd like to talk to you about. Children raised by Christian parents will show them the right way even if they remove every visible cross in this country.
If I knew for sure where my money was going, I might give more. As it is now I give as the Lord leads and not just because someone tries to guilt me into it.

"We should make them legal if they come here to do jobs Americans won't do."
If we didn't have the welfare system we have, there would be allot less jobs that Americans wouldn't do. This is one of the problems we have. In allot of cases welfare pays more than some jobs so there is no incentive to find work. Never mind that they have no skills and still want to make what someone who bothered to get an education is being paid. Contrary to popular belief welfare is not a right but many think it is.

I think we will all be surprised at whom we share heaven with. In my humble opinion it is a waste of time and energy to argue about things that have no bearing on ones salvation. There is enough in every denomination that could be questioned by another. All that it serves to do is keep the body at odds with each other. None of us have all the answers and we should learn from each other and trust that The Lord can take care of what truly belongs to him. We should focus on Christ and let the Spirit direct each heart. I have learned much from the believers on this forum and am blessed many times by what I read here.

"my only concern is that having grown-up roman catholic I never once heard God's plan of salvation, so to me the door illustration would not apply to the roman catholic door. But indeed there will be roman catholics in heaven."
Believer I too grew up Roman Catholic and cannot say that I ever remember hearing the plan of salvation as I did in the Pentecostal church I was saved in. I guess I just don't worry any more that it is up to me to get anyone saved. That is the work of the Spirit and once I figured that out I could relax and see that the Spirit goes wherever he chooses and saves whomever he chooses. If you believe that there will be RC in heaven why not the door? It is just an illustration that I find comforting.

"the only way a person can be saved is by repenting of their sin and turning to God by putting their complete faith/trust in the person and finished work of Jesus Christ alone.
Believer: I am in total agreement with your statement. I just believe that the Lord has a remnant in every denomination and every local church and home church and any where Christians gather. Some are Baptists, some are Pentecostals some are Catholic and so on.

"The true church is the repository of grace.... and that church is neither Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian or Lutheran... it is the True Church of Christ....manifest in its divine character.... the People of God, the Body of Christ and the Temple of the Holy Spirit...."
A hearty AMEN!! A friend once said to me that when we get to heaven, the Baptists would got through the Baptist door, the Catholic through the Catholic door, Pentecostals through the Pentecostal door and so forth. Then we would all find ourselves in one big room worshiping at the feet of Jesus. Man! I can't wait to get to heaven.

Why as the church do we put so much emphasis on ordination? We need more "divine nobodies" those work for the Lord and do not seek the notice of men. Pastors of small congregations are many times big fish in a small pond and love the notice of their people. People have a tendency to put the pastor on a pedestal which feeds the ego. Thus a vicious cycle that does nothing to further the kingdom.

Johnzon, continues to beat a dead horse refusing to keep things in the context of history. Why, Johnzon, do you not acknowledge the good that has been done all over the world in the name of Jesus. How many are being fed and clothed and given medical care because Christians engage in and believe that this is what Jesus would have us do. I have come to the conclusion that this is what Johnzon does for fun. Well go right ahead Johnzon Jesus told us this would happen and we are not offended but blessed to be counted worthy to suffer insult for the cause of Christ.

1If any of you has a dispute with another, dare he take it before the ungodly for judgment instead of before the saints? 2Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if you are to judge the world, are you not competent to judge trivial cases? 3Do you not know that we will judge angels? How much more the things of this life! 4Therefore, if you have disputes about such matters, appoint as judges even men of little account in the church!£ 5I say this to shame you. Is it possible that there is nobody among you wise enough to judge a dispute between believers? 6But instead, one brother goes to law against another—and this in front of unbelievers!
7The very fact that you have lawsuits among you means you have been completely defeated already. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be cheated? 8Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers. 1 Cor6:1-8

"Keep the faith, but keep it to yourself!"
Would it not be very difficult to be obedient to Jesus if we follow this advise?
When will we understand that WE cannot convert anyone. If the Holy Spirit isn't in it, it isn't going to happen.

"John is right. Christianity does have a lot of blood on its hands. "
So does communism but that is not stopping some from trying to turn America into another communist nation. Why do you think this attack on Christianity is so strong.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
