  • 1.2 Million Sign Anti-Health Care Bill Petition to Congress

The advancement of technology and being at the forefront of ideas has boasted the elements of both efficiency and effectiveness. Leaders always seek efficiency and effectiveness when seeking to advance ideas and technology, and in this case, a better health care system. Obama's plan will not be effective and efficient. The natural result of a plan that produces both efficiency and effectiveness is convenience. That is the one result that Obama's health plan will not give.

For decades, America has strived toward being at the forefront of ingenuity by always seeking to produce convenience. Obama's plan will only send our great country into regression.

Because men can not "fall into love with other men." There is no place in Scripture for that false idea of love. Love, according to how some describe as "falling in love" is understood in Greek as ἔρως which is love that is shared between sexes (carnal passion) and not ἀγάπη which is a selfless love that was demonstrated in the life of Christ as He left heaven to became a servant on Earth.

As stated above ἔρως is a carnal passion "between sexes" which means there is a difference. The Law of the Excluded Middle and the Law of non-Contradiction elucidate this fact. There is no middle ground and there is no "sameness" but a distinct and unique difference between the two as in this case, between a man and a woman. ἔρως can only be expressed between opposite sexes.

  • Secularism: One of America's Great Strengths?

Read Francis Schaeffer's "A Christian Manifesto"

Secularization is the belief that religious ideas, interpretations, and institutions hold no social value. When secularization has run its course it eradicates shame. Just look at the Western society's that have been secularized for a few decades like England, Germany, Amsterdam, and Canada. Immorality is called sexual liberation. The provision of drugs are deemed medically necessary. Wayward youth are simply kids trying to "find themselves."

Secularization is never a good thing. Man becomes the measure of all things and at the heart of man lays selfishness and deceit. Secularization sacrifices national values for individual freedoms.

Of course she will. The question is, "What does she think is right?" She thinks abortion on demand and same sex unions are right.

    Homosexual Man,

On the contrary, Jesus said a lot about homosexuality.

First, do you believe Jesus was God in the flesh?

Who wrote the Law and gave it to Moses?

Matthew 5:17-20, Jesus reaffirms the Law.

It seems to me, that Jesus, who was vital in the giving of the Law and who upholds the Law, affirms every jot and tittle of the Law.

Jesus had plenty to say against homosexuality.

I've always wondered why a prayer language was needed. If the believer has already been filled with the Holy Spirit, and if Christ is our High Priest, and the regenerate have direct access to God, then doesn't God hear their prayers?

If that is true, then why would a person need a "prayer language?"

  • Conservative Christians Warn Against Obama's Pro-Homosexual Agenda

    summathetes »
    Thu Jun 18, 2009 12:38 pm Agree: 1   Disagree: 2

Homosexuals have always had the same rights as everybody else, they have simply chosen not to exercise them. Within the framework of government, heterosexuals have only been able to marry people of the opposite sex and that has been restrained to include non family members and individuals who are at least 18 years of age. The same rights have been granted to all people who choose to exercise them

The approval of homosexuality is compromising freedom for the sake of autonomy and that never benefits societies as a whole. Freedoms are granted for the common good of society. The AMA's recent publication validates that there is no "homosexual gene" it is only a behavior. A behavior that promotes more disease, decreases the longevity of life of those who practice that behavior and never reproduces.

How will homosexuality benefit society as a whole? It does not. Homosexuality is a selfish behavior chosen to be practiced by a minority. With the USA beginning to construct government offices that endorse the practice and provide assistance to abortion worldwide along with the approval of same-sex marriage, this is nothing more than a tandem of regulating the global population.

Bottom line...it all boils down to economics and global power which at its very root is the real problem...SIN.

It amazes me how public educators express fear/hatred towards those who proclaim their faith publicly, especially towards those who are Christian.

This student only wants to acknowledge the God who has been instrumental in her life. Her personal relationship with Christ has sustained her throughout her college education. Perhaps He brought peace when she was stressed, perhaps He provided comfort when her father passed, thus allowing her to continue to persevere and not drop out of school. Even providing courage and a model of integrity to not cheat even when she didn't do as well as she wanted to on a test and so forth.

The idea of a personal God who sustains, strengthens, honors, encourages, and loves is only present in Christianity. None of the other major religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, or Islam can comprehend the character of God. Moreover, Christianity is the only religion that claims God came to man where as the others are rooted on mankind trying to reach God on their own accord.

Was God active in her education? John 15 is a good beginning to understand why she wants to acknowledge Jesus Christ.

  • Miss California: An Authentic Demonstration of Faith

    Mon Apr 27, 2009 8:59 pm Agree: 3   Disagree: 1

I think its great that she didn't cave in to the pressure, but to say that she is a real demonstration of faith is not reality.

What was the basis of why she is not pro homosexual marriage? She claimed her upbringing as the source for not being pro homosexual marriage and not the Bible or even more specifically, she didn't claim God as the standard by which all sin is judged.

It's important not to hold individuals in too high esteem, especially by claiming that she is "An Authentic Demonstration of True Faith." Faith in what? Family upbringing? I'm not saying she is not a Christian, but how does she demonstrate "Authentic Faith" apart from upholding God as the basis for why she said what she said.

In a similar light, Christians who are killed for any other reason other than proclaiming Christ are not martyrs.

Applaud her for her courage, but claiming that she demonstrated Authentic Faith? I think not.

Welcome to the new Great Britain. If Obama isn't trying to make a statement by using all three names, then what's the point in using all three names?

He claims to be Christian but asks religious leaders of other faiths to pray for him? How can his Christian faith be taken seriously. Either Obama doesn't distinguish an obvious difference between the Christian God and the God of other religious faiths or he's more concerned about being tolerant and relativistic to gain popularity for his own purposes.

Christian??? Either he isn't or he is and is compromising his religious integrity. Neither are characteristics of the Christian God.

Most of you are so ignorant about the Bible its pathetic. Quit taking texts out of context and trying to bifurcate Scripture to prove your point. Why don't you take at least a year or more and read the entire Bible, examine it and search it before you continue to spew your ignorance.

Believing that Scripture supports same sex unions or abortion is wrong. If you do consider yourself a Christian and do not think sam sex union or abortion is wrong and its okay to support anyone who is in favor of these immoral issues should seriously reconsider where you have acquired your biblical understanding. I'm not trying to be arrogant or condescending, but in all seriousness, your thinking is incorrect.

I also believe throwing insults at any person because of their beliefs is also unbiblical. We should call sin sin, but to become unkind and arrogant is unChristian. The purpose in exposing sin is to maintain the purity of the church and also for the spiritual health/purity of the believer in question.

To say that evangelicals as a whole have always been pro-slavery is just not true either. Once again, I would encourage all people before claiming to know the truth about any issue, to search the truth and do some research without trusting or believing someone else's personal bias. Case in point, just do a little reading on the Underground Railroad and the white evangelicals who helped save slaves (abolitionists).

There is a lot of misguided and bad teaching in many churches. Do the hard work before you decide to point the finger.

How can Obama now say that he needs McCain's help or that he is "a leader on so many important issues" when he never once stated that during any of the three debates or while on the campaign trail.

Politicians rarely speak the whole truth, saying only what they want you to know.

It's never good but very revealing when men begin to stand up to claim their "rights" instead of proclaiming the Word of God. Why do we as people need to promulgate our ethnicity? It causes me to pause and wonder just who believes in the sovereignty of God. Why are putting so much energy into defending our ethnicity instead of leaning on God because if we were really doing that, why in the world would our voices be speaking anything other than His Truth, His Comfort, His Peace, His Righteousness, His Judgment, and His Forgiveness.

We need to quit trusting in ourselves.

    chicago24,

How does one take liberties with the Scripture if they are a biblical literalist? Wouldn't it be just the opposite? Land is a literalist in so far as he allows the Scripture to be his guide. This would be identified as practicing a good hermeneutic. He conforms to it, he doesn't force it to conform to him.
