Both Homosexualality, Adultery, and Fornication are sins. These are clearly identified in the Bible in the OT and NT. The question is does the Episcopal church hold to the the authority of scripture in the life of every believer who make up the church. Looks like it left the Bible sometime ago.

I think some so called conservatives need to read the Bible. The ten commandments and other laws did not change the Isrealite hearts. Jesus Christ was the solution. In all the OT the Isrealites could not keep the law. Obama was not elected High Priest but President. You can not legistlate righteousnees. Conseravatives need to have an open mind. Not a narrow one. I would dare say that some conservatives do not really know Christ.

I think it stems from 60's and the country continual embracing of secularism. Generations have been raise without the ritual of going to church.
Secondly, if I go to church will I hear anything besides a good story and couple of spiritual illustrations. Pastors'Jesus must be lifted up, worshipped and His Word preached in order for people to be drawn from religiousity to true relationships with Jesus Christ. I will come to church if I have a relationship with Christ.

God did not bless the land he blessed the people. Many of us will agree that American people in general have increasignly turned away from God; even within Christianity. Moreover God will bless any country that seeks to obey him. 2 Chron 7:14-15
4 if my people , who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

I will not allow my children to watch this. I am tired of the sexuality present in vs 1 and 2. I wish we could get a Christian film company together with good actors
I think some of us need a biblical reality check. The country's moral values come from the people within the country. Last checked we are increasing becoming a secular society. Withing Christiandom we are even more secular. We are ordain individuals practicing the sin of homosexuality, we promote interacial hate, we do not believe the whole Bible is relavant. If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and repent of their sin, then God will heal our country. Sarah Palin is not being critisized so much about her relationship with God. She is being tweeked for her she unpreparedness as a VP candidate. Barack is also green but his leadership during his campaign has showd his ability to get a group of wise people around him to make good decisions. This is what I want in a President.

I think voting for or against a candidate solely on one moral issue is not wise. If you voted for George Bush he was pro-life, but in eight years was there any advancements to reverse Roe vs. Wade. Yet in the mean time millions of Americans are being sinned against due to the greed. I not think by voting for or against Obama will change the #of people who get abortions yearly. Nor will it prevent states from making homosexual marriage legal. Both are sins but I do not expect worldly politicians to effect moral change. You can not legistlate righteousness.

I was waiting forMy wife actually to get her feedback as a Christian women. In her opinion this is another sign that Gov.Palin may need to spend more time at home than in civil service. I down syndrom baby requires attention not of a nanny but a mother. I pregnant daughter needs the personal attention of a mother. Her question was is she putting her ambition as a feminists first before her responsibilty to God as a mother. In either case it will be stressful for the family without even being on the campaign trail. One more thing lets call it what is Sin. The world may not agree but evangelicals christians should be biblically minded. The daughter should not be applauded.

Amazing, they finally decide to feed the flock. Isnt that Sunday morning, Sunday School, and weekday Bible Study is for. I think this an example of becoming so contemporary to the needs of seekers and not accomplishing the discipleship part of the great commission.

I think we have forgotten about what Jesus said in Matthew 10. Missionaries in Senegal should be provide a support system. That is the reason for the Church to be a family to those who have lost theirs as a result of following Christ. This seems to me a compromise. Another example of compromising against Bible Truth.
Matt 10:34-39
34 "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace , but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn "'a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law-
36 a man's enemies will be the members of his own household.' 37 "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; 38 and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. 39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Christian morality should come into play. You have to ask God for wisdom. It is historic from African Americans to have the first black democratic nominee. African American pastors are leaders in their community. Should they not celebrate the historic event. They should not tell congregation who to vote for. . Neither McCain or nor Obama stand up to well against biblical truths. Dont forget. God has many attributes. Both Love and Righteousness. Just because they are not for abortion does not give them knod. God is also a God of love which includeds benevolence. He is for the poor and those who can not defend themselves. God is neither democrat or republican. If you can not see this then what Bible are you reading.

there is no such thing as a homosexual christian. According to Old Testament and N ew Testament homosexuality is a sin. God hates the sinful behavior and loves the person. This Bishop must stand before a living God one day and give an account for his actions.

I agree with the message and not with the messenger. Jesus states in Matt 28 every christians mandate to evangelize and make disciples. So the Pope is affirm scripture. However his position as "Holy Father" is extremely contridictory to scripture. With do respect, there is no place in scripture that supports the Pope's position as a successor of Peter. Peter was chosen along with the rest of the Apostles by Christ himself. The Pope is selected by a group of men. This is a function of Ordination and not Apostolic succession. If he is a apostolic sucessor he must perform signs and wonders of the apostles. Which includes healing of incurable diseases, and raising of the dead.

Pastor Jakes belief statement may not neccessarily align with what he preaches. I can remember one evangelical message that he has preached. I have never seen until resently him give an invitation to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. He is definitely gifted but is there a difference between biblical theological themes and what he preaches. The gospel is good news however it also contains condemnation which causes every non believer through the power of the holy spirit to be convicted of their sin. There is no doubt about his affiliation with prosperity preaching. Bottom line question. Is he ministering to make money to advance the kingdom. Transformation does not come from material gain but through accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. This is the bibilical standard.
I think this is good advise. However I have another scenario where we are constanly making sacrifices to keep kids in school. Sometimes this requires short-term borrowing. I am often tempted with the idea of sending them to public school and put the rest to savings which we do not have.

These churches are incorporated as a "non-profit" organization with a 5013c tax exemption because they are supposed to be charitable organizations. They are breaking the principle of their mission statement. We critisize the Red Cross for their overhead but when it comes to these churches we look at religion. People from their congregation gave a tithe or a grace offering to the church for the continuance of the ministry, upkeep, and to take care of the pastor financial obligations. Anytime these minister receive a gift from their congregation they must pay taxes on the fair market value of the gift. I wonder did these guys pay taxes on luxurious gifts. I blame church leaders. Why doesnt this money got to missions or to building a christian school or college. Pastors are not CEO's according to scripture they are servants /shepherds. If they want to live the life of a CEO then start a for-profit company and pay taxes. When was the last time you saw a shepherd with a Rolls Royce.
Everyone has marital difficulties, but as Christians leaders of a large church do they care about what the Bible says. To divorce over "incompatibility and neglect" is not a legitimate reason, according to the Word of God! Please note Matt. 5:32: "But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to commit adultery, and anyone who marries a woman so divorced commits adultery." Biblically speaking God hates the action of divorce. He grants it based on adultery by either spouse. What about their congregation who paid them 3million a year to preach and minister and hold them accountable. The world can do what they will. Christians are bound by the Word of God. If not then what book do we base our beliefs on.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
