"every once in a good while my pastor will REBUKE homosexuality, and says he won't tolerate it in his church if they are not willing to change. I've seen ONE person storm out in all the times he's brought it up."
While I agree with the position, I have to ask, would his position be the same with persons living in more common sin such as adultery, unmarried cohabitation, etc. I hope so. If we condem homosexualilty with less severity than other, more hetro-freindly but equally sinful, sexual sin we are only being hypocrites.
The man who shot Tiller is a cowardly murderer. He deserves the full weight of the law to fall upon him for his dasterdly act. But, Jesus said he who lives by the sword dies by the sword. Tiller murdered people for a living and was, in turn, murdered himself. Tiller should have listened to Jesus. God will not be mocked.

"I've never heard of a collection being taken at a home Bible study. Good try, though."
Our weekly home Bible study takes a collection every week. People put change and the occasional dollar into the jar. (if they have some - nothing mandatory) At the end of the year it gets donated to charity. This cannot be considered a business any more than tossing change into the Savlation Army kettle at Christmas makes the giver part of a business.

Loving v. Virgina is totally inapplicable to Gay marriage. In Loving there was discrimination - A white man was allowed to marry a white woman but a black man wasn't. Thus, there is discrimination based purely on race. Gays have the EXACT same rights when it comes to marriage as straights. All males (gay or straight) can marry a woman and all females can marry a man. The New York Supreme Court pointed this out when they denied any constitutional right to gay marriage.

"I think it's a shame that LU can only see the Democratic party as representative of only 2 narrow social issues. Many people support Democratic candidates in spite of their stand on abortion and gay rights because they are on the right side of so many other issues. LU is missing the forest for the trees."
That would be like a German in 1940 Nazi Germany saying, "Hey, I'm not down with this gassing the Jews thing but the Nazis make the trains run on time and the streets are much safer. So I'm going to vote for Adolph because it's silly to base a vote on a single issue."

There is also no evidence Calvin ever harmed, much less killed, anyone. Michelle Servetus was indicted, tried, convicted and executed by the civil government in Geneva. Calvin was a witness at the trial and testified as to the heretical nature of Servetus' teaching. Servetus was also under a death sentence by the Catholic Church at the time, which is why he was in Geneva in the first place. Further, Calvin's theology was/is identical to Luther's in every respect other than the sacrement of communion. They had different opinions as to the nature of communion.

Flagged as inappropriate. show "HAHAHAAHAHA On what planet? There was hardly any support for same sex marriage in 1997 and now the polls show that only a slight majority are against it. LOL Do you think posting nonsense will make it come true"? You need to read the actual study. Even this article claims that gay marriage "peaked" in 1997. Just what do you think "peaked" means. Support has dropped off and the study proves it. Sorry this runs counter to incessent dishonest propaganda of the unregenerate, pro-soddomite media. hide

Flagged as inappropriate. show What the article doesn't really focus on is that support for gay marriage has dropped significantly since 1997. Also, youth always poll more liberal and a large percentage of those liberal youth turn conservative when they grow up and get a family and mortgage. This has been documented for decades. The gays proclaimed loudly that prop 8 would be voted down. they were wrong. They then proclaimed loudly (the only way they know how) prop 8 would be thrown out by the courts. They were wrong. Now they proclaim loudly that prop 8 will be defeated by a new election on gay marriage. They will be wrong on that too....don't worry. The country is turning away from gay marriage not toward it. hide

"I certainly do not admit that and if you actually knew anything about Greek Lexicons, you know that. Are you being intentionally disingenuous to support your personal prejudices?"
No, I've cited authoritative sources for my positions. You cite nothing but your own ravings and an unattributed paragraph you cut and pasted from a gay website. weak, very, very weak.

"The fact is there are certain prejudices in many lexicons but the facts are there is no agreement that the words in Paul's letters have anything to do with homosexuality that we are discussing today. Any honest scholar admits that right off, which clearly shows where you stand."
So you admit that no Greek lexicon accepts your definition. Nor have you cited any authority for any assertion you've made other than your own imagination. An no scholar admits "right off" that Paul wasn't condemning homosexuality. I've alread mentioned four of the most prominent Greek scholars of all time who all acknowledged that Paul was condemning homosexuality in the verses I cited.

Even Roberts, the only Greek scholar referenced on the gay website mickey cut and pasted from, defines the word as homosexual. This is consistent with Spiros Zodhiates (the most published Greek scholar today) and with James Srong (the most published Greek scholar of all time). Same with Parkhurst and Robinson. No doubt, the NT clearly condemns homosexuality. The only ones contesting that are gays trying to rationalize their behavior.

Obviously since the NT was written in greek it contains the Greek word for homosexual in every verse I cited. I know because I have read the original Greek and the Greek word for homosexual it in every verse I cited. This has been affirmed by 2000 years of scholors who are experts in the Greek language. No one has ever contested this except a couply of gay academics who are trying to rationalize their sin. The word used for homosexual in the Bible is the same word the ancient Greek writers Homer, Polybius and Thucydides used when talking about homosexuals. Once again, you show you have no clue what you are talking about.
