More post-modern drivel from a "youth pastor". Typical style- bring out a worldy concept (MTV), put in the obligatory slam "don't watch it now", while at the same time glorifying it as "awesome", Then try to use it to "teach a Biblical concept". Keep you kids far away from these types of "youth pastors".

  • Interview: Switchfoot's Jerome Fontamillas on New 'Narnia' Song

Have confidence in the power of the preached Gospel. It will have more affect than a million Switchfoots or Narnias.

Switchfoot is not Christian music. Narnia is not a Christian film. When will we stop being in love with the world?

    1 John 2
15 Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For everything in the world—the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does—comes not from the Father but from the world. 17 The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

You don't need to open a soup kitchen or pick up trash on the highway. Preach the Holiness of God, the depravity of man and Christ crucified as the exclusive way of salvation and let the Holy Spirit do the rest.

  • Christian Golden Rule Bridges Divisions in 'Day of Silence'

Homosexuals can argue all they want to but the Bible is crystal clear when it condemns their lifestyle. The problem is they don't like what it has to say so they try to muddy the waters. They are sinning and need to repent (turn from) of their homosexual behavior. Anyone who can continue in a sinful lifestyle without guilt or remorse is not saved.

Any argument that compares homosexuals "goodness" to that of Christians is not valid. God will not judge us based on other's behavior, only on our own.

That being said, every person is a filthy sinner and needs to repent. For some it is homosexual behavior, for others it is something else. That should not keep us from speaking the truth and telling people when they are doing something wrong.

  • Evangelicals 'Hijacked' Day of Prayer, Critics Accuse

Complete and utter nonsense! Ravi Zacharias was asked not to pray in the name of Jesus so as not to offend the pagans. Any praryer that is not prayed to the true and living God in the name of His son Jesus is a waste of time.

  • New Bible Reveals God's Heart Towards Poverty, Injustice

    truthfulwitness »
    Sun Mar 02, 2008 5:42 pm Agree: 7   Disagree: 4

Christians have been focused on poverty and injustice for centuries as many have posted ample evidence of on numerous comment sections here at The Christian Post. Christians have done more to ease human suffering and end injustice than all the other religions of the world combined.

What this new Bible is all about, is the attempt of heretics (like Tony Campolo) to take the focus off the devisive issues like the deity of Christ, the substitutionary atonement of Christ, and the exclusivity of Christ as the only means of reconciliation of God, and change the focus to less offensive issues like climate change, redistribution of income, poverty etc. etc.

The problem is that there is no power in a gospel based on social issues. The real Gospel's power is in forgiveness of sin by the blood of Jesus Christ and a new birth that conforms us into the likeness of God's Son.

  • Religious Leaders Urge Bush to Sign Anti-Torture Bill

If these so-called "religious leaders" would get half as concerned about the slaughter of innocent babies by abortion as they are about the rough treatment of enemies who want to kill us all, they might have some credibility.

  • Pro-Gay Booklet's 'Facts' Draw Criticism

    Sat Mar 01, 2008 5:04 am Agree: 2   Disagree: 1

This "booklet" is a complete lie. I have been in education for 15 years and every high school student I have ever known who claims to be homosexual was mentally ill. Their lives were a wreck and every one without exception was impulsive and highly emotional. Very few could even finish High School.

Tattoos and body piercings are symptoms of the deeper problem, rebellion. They are an outward sign that something is terribly wrong inside. I thank God that he forgives us for our sins when we repent. But sometimes we still live with the consequences.

  • They Love Jesus; They Don’t Like the Church!

    truthfulwitness »
    Tue Feb 26, 2008 2:32 pm Agree: 2   Disagree: 0

IExcuses, Excuses. I don't like the music, I don't like the preacher, all Christians are hypocrites, Christians are jugdmental on and on and on and on. Why don't these people just come out and say it. They want to sleep in on Sunday and they don't want God to be in charge of their lives. They might have to give up some of the garbage they are involved in. We should quit catering to these people and let God deal with them. When they stand before God one day, he is not going to accept their excuses about how they ignored Him because Christians are not perfect.
