Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. (JN 8:32)
How many of you debating the existance of God are prepared to die for what you believe? How many of you are ready, right now, today, to give up your life in support of God or in support of evolution? I think about the men in the New Testament who endured beatings, torture, and imprisonment, who were stoned, beheaded, beaten to death because they believed in the Divinity of Jesus. Had Jesus not been the Son of God and had not performed the miracles His disciples witnessed, I seriously doubt they would have willingly given their lives. You have to have a pretty strong conviction to your beliefs to endure what they did. Jesus said He was the Son of God and He demonstrated this through His teachings and actions. Personally I would rather live as though God is real and find out that He isn't, than live as though He isn't then find out (too late) that He is.
Comments about the Amplified Bible not being legitimate and just a tool for the Word of Faith movement is pretty silly. Webster defines the word amplified as: "to expand (as a statement) by the use of detail or illustration or by closer analysis."
It helps people gain a better understanding of what they are reading and being taught.
As for Joyce Meyer, she is God's servant, not mine so I won't speak ill of her. For good or bad, she will answer to the Lord for her teachings and her actions. My concern is that so many people attack her and others like her for teaching about health and prosperity. I don't know what your Bible says, but mine (KJV) says that Christ carried sickness and disease to the cross for us so that we don't have to sick. He became poor so that wouldn't have to be. As a matter of fact, the only place I've found in the Bible where God says to test (or prove) Him on anything is in Malachi 3:10-12 "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts."
To me that sounds pretty simple. God wants us to be prosperous. So what's wrong with His people being taught that?
Just because a person doesn't believe the same way your or I do, doesn't mean they are wrong. Forget about religon and man made tradition - read the Word with the faith of a child. Take no man or womans word or interpretation. Read it for yourself and pray it out.

One thing that is deeply disturbing to me is the way our society has turned completely around in such a short time span. According to the American Psychological Association (APA) being gay is normal, healthy and nothing to be concerned about. Up until the early 80's, this same group defined homosexuality as abnormal, deviant behavior and classified it as a mental disease or defect. In the 80's homosexuality was reclassified and removed from that list. As I said before, it is now considered a normal, healthy lifestyle by the psychiatric/psychological community. But guess what condition was added to the list in last few years? How about 'homophobia'.
Homophobia is defined as an "irrational fear of, aversion to, or discrimination against homosexuality or homosexuals".
Aversion is defined as "a feeling of repugnance toward something with a desire to avoid or turn from it".
So, by definition, those of us who are against homosexualtiy and same-sex marriage are considered homophobic. And according to the APA - the group who defines what's crazy and what isn't - anyone who is homophobic is suffering from mental disease or defect.
See how things have been turned around so that we're the ones now in the wrong? THAT is insane.

If there is anything truly evil, it's meth. It's the hardest thing I've ever had to face down. I gave my life to the Lord in 2002, in county jail where I was awaiting trial on meth charges. I prayed that if there was a God, if he would deliver me from my addication and imprisonment, I would dedicate my life to Him. He did His part and now I'm doing mine. The point I want to make is this, pray for your loved ones who are battling this addiction. And keep in mind, getting off of meth will be the single hardest thing they've ever done. My wife of 22 years constantly prayed for me and I know that it was the prayers of her and others that opened the door for my salvation. Thanks and God bless you all.
On our own we are little more than bits of stone and glass. Together we are the Body of Christ. Holy Bible: Mosaic is an invitation to experience Christ in His Word and in the responses of his people. Each week, as you reflect on guided Scripture readings aligned with the church seasons, you will receive a wealth of insight from historical and contemporary writings.
