  • Younger Unchurched Seek Faith that Challenges, Transforms

Being someone that would fall into the age range of those who were surveyed, I understand where they are coming from. I myself am tired of church as usual. I am wanting a real experience with a very real God. Casual Christianity is causing many people my age to turn to other religions. I think America needs a real move of Holy Spirit in its churches. Its sad, however true, that the church in America has no spiritural power anymore. Somewhere along the line, before my generation, that ball was dropped. I myself long for the day that Holy Spirit moves in our churches again.

Mike, as a Christian I see where others who have posted comments directed at you are coming from. However, I feel that many, if not most of them, are posted in a hateful, judgmental and distasteful way. For that I apologize. I do not agree with your lifestyle, with that being said, I want you to know that we all make mistakes and none of us are perfect. Christ loves you just the way you are and so should we...it is not our job to change you, that is Holy Spirits job. Please don't think all christians are as hateful as some here seem to be. And I know that some people will want to comment and ridicule me for this post...I personally don't care, if you don't like what I have to say....then don't read my comments.

I do not have children as of yet, but when I do it wouldn't bother me for other people to hand out their faith books or whatever. Why? Because my children will know the power of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I would hope that Christians would demonstrate the power of Christ, which no other religion has, then no one would want to take anything from a false religion, they would know the truth, the truth which has set them and millions of others free!

Other religions can pass things out, but there is no comparison to the Gospel of the Kingdom. There is power in the Gospel of Jesus Christ to set people free from every bondage including religion!

I am glad that Obama wants to use the words, "so help me God" and that they were not allowed to be taken out. I also don't believe that Obama is a Muslim. Thats all speculation, especially when he has denied it several times, and its my opinion that he is telling the truth.

As someone who live in Oklahoma and just minutes from ORU, I think Dr. Mark Rutland is a great choice for president of the campus. He is a man of integrity and wisdom, something ORU hasn't had since its founder, Oral Roberts, retired.

  • Saddleback Pastor: Domestic Abuse Not Reason for Divorce

A friend of mine was killed by her abusive husband because her pastor told her if she got a divorce she would be guilty of adultry in God's eyes. I do not believe that a loving and caring God would want any of his children to be hurt or live in that type of environment. Divorce is not an unforgivable sin either. However, divorce for reasons other then infidelity, abuse or the unbeliever leaving the believer, to me could be questionable.

As Christians we should not want the definition of marriage to change at all. We have allowed America to throw God out of just about everything and its time that we stand up and say NO MORE! Homosexuals have the right to do what they want in the privacy of thier own lives, afterall you can't expect sinners to act like saints, but when it comes to a change in a constitutional amendment, that to me would be a sign of great moral decay in our country.

This is a rediculous request. I don't think there is a liberal or conservative, republican or democrat that will allow a bailout for the adult entertainment industry. I hope they all lose so much money that they are forced out of business.

believer, that is true. God will not back up any church or preacher by showing up in a service where correct doctrine is not being preached. However, keep in mind that correct doctrine to God and correct doctrine to us maybe two different things. I don't agree with everything the church I attend preaches, but then again I probably won't find a church like that. I take the good and throw out the bad.

A pastor of a church I use to attend, before I moved out of state made a lot of other pastors in the town mad because they said he was "stealing" there memebers. His response was "if they come over to this side of the fence and get feed real food and get too fat to get back over, how is that stealing?" (speaking of sheep as Christians obviously). We had something other churches didn't in that town and that was the power and presence of God in our services. I don't allow doctrine to tell me where to attend, I go where God can be found.

I have read some of the comments and I wonder as Christians, where our forgiveness is? No forgiving doesn't mean forgetting, but it does mean to accept that person again. If he has repented then he has been restored according to the Bible. I know he hurt people, I was one of those people. But, we continue to hurt him in return. Two wrongs don't make a right. He may be confused on issues, but thats where the church is suppose to step in and say hey, we can help you!
