"A denomination is splitting? This is news????"

It's never news when a man-made association (such as a denomination) has disagreements and decides to split up. The "news" here is that one side of this split is ignoring Scripture and the other is trying to abide by biblical precepts, and though threads like this the Truth of the matter is being told.

The Bible clearly teaches that homosexual acts are a distortion of God's original plan for sexual relations. These folks are seeking God's way, not their own selfish way.

So just because I disagree with you that automatically makes me a liar? Whatever!

People have a choice over their behavior. One can choose to act out on their urges or keep them under control. Christians realize that everyone is born a sinner, but people have a choice whether or not to act out on their urges to steal, to kill, to fornicate, to have sex with someone outside of marriage, etc.

gguy: You have no clue about what it means to be indwelt by the Holy Spirit, who guides us to an understanding of Scripture. The Bible states "The natural man knows not the things of God, neither CAN he know them because they are spiritually discerned." As for homosexuality never being mentioned in the Bible, you better read through those passages again because God's Word specifically speaks against "men leaving behind the natural use of the women." As for the Bible speaking of sodomy, that's where we get the modern term "sodomy" (vile anal sex acts committed by men with other men).
