At odds with the church's constitution???...how about being at odds and in complete rebellion to the Word of God?!? The Bible is so clear. God is so clear from Genesis to Revelations about marriage. I read the KJV, the NKJV, the Amplified, and occasionally the NLV. Is there a socially-acceptable version I'm missing? Is there a version which omits I Cor. 6:9,10; Col. 3:5; Romans 1:31, and so many more?

Does it get any clearer than this:
"Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet." (Romans 1:22-27)

But then again, this type of open rebellion is to be expected as it was prophesied in the book of Timothy: “For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears….” (II Tim. 4:3)

Furthermore, our Lord Jesus warned us to “Beware * of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” (Matt. 7:15).

I encourage my brothers and sisters to stand firm in the Word of God and put on the “whole armor of God”(Eph 6:10-18) so that we are able to stand in the midst of a society that encourages us to turn away from God’s way and have it our way. Let’s continue to pray and cry out to God for mercy, for healing.

    God bless

  • Black Believers Debate Prosperity Gospel

The "prosperity gospel" is very dangerous in that it makes Christians who are living in poverty question their faith and possibly gauge their faith by the amount of money they have.

What a great testimony to the effectiveness of adult stem cells! I echo Carron's statement regarding the futility of embryonic stem cell research. As the author so eloquently states, it's not about science, statistics, or undeniable proof; embryonic stem cell research is about money (which seems to be at the heart of every liberal argument). Good article and great news!

Hallelujah! I've prayed for the day that Christian filmmakers would step out on faith and make movies that will draw people to the Lord.

As a student of public health, I’m excited to see that Dr. James Holsinger will focus on tackling the childhood obesity epidemic, making this nation tobacco-free, and improving emergency response. As a Christian, I’d vote for him even if he was an atheist, based on his agenda. Conversely, there are not many atheists/agnostics/homosexuals who would vote for Dr. Holsinger because of his beliefs (not cool).

For the people who fear Christianity, you must realize that Dr. Holsinger is not trying to make America a Christian nation. He is trying to do exactly what his position entails, serve as the highest public health official in this nation; improving the health for all, including Christians, Muslims, Hindus, Atheists, Homosexuals, etc.
