'1-2-Switch' Release Date, News: Several Clips Show Various Challenges in the Game; Title Gets Mixed Reviews

When one talks about video games, obviously it has something to do with the player looking intently at the screen. This is a norm that Nintendo aims to smash with its revolutionary title "1-2-Switch," a game that comes the same time the highly-anticipated Nintendo Switch arrives.

"1-2-Switch" shakes up the gaming scene in a way that removes the focus from the screen to the opposing player. This being said, the aim is to outdo the other gamer by making sure one is faster than the other. How exactly does this work?

Several clips have been released to increase hype and awareness as to how game-changing it is going to be. The first teaser features minigames that involve sword fighting, milking the cow, and even seeing who gets to pick up the phone first. Another clip shows contests on quick gun draw, cracking a safe, and copying a dance move. The last one has a funny shaving race and a soda shake.

These are just a few of the myriad of challenges present in "1-2-Switch." To be exact, there is a total of 28 confirmed minigames, each differing in theme and difficulty. Perhaps the only question now is, is it worth buying?

Time has given a positive reception to the new game. In defense of the $50 price tag, they explained that the various activities within the title should be worth it, and it proves to be a very different take to the norms of gaming. They described it as a "fresh and amusing in a very Nintendo way, demanding equal parts imagination and quick reflexes from players."

Daily Toreador, however, sees it more in a negative light. Despite being labeled as a party game, they classified it as a sorry excuse for a priced game. Comments over at YouTube even say that it should be within the console and not sold separately.

So what's the verdict? The players themselves should decide, and so for those interested, "1-2-Switch" comes out with the Nintendo Switch on March 3, 2017.
