10 Things Christians Can Learn From the Olympics

August 1, 2012|8:57 am

1. Salvation is free but rewards are earned (2 Corinthians 5:10.)

 2. Teenagers (like Missy Franklin) can outshine adults if given the chance (1 Timothy 4:12.)

 3. Teamwork is everything (Philippians 1:27.)

 4. It's the training before the big day that matters most (1 Timothy 4:8.)

 5. Those who've fallen greatly (like Michael Phelps) can come back and finish strong (Galatians 1:13-16.)

 6. It ain't over til it's over (2 Peter 3:9,10.)

 7. Carrying a torch is great but winning the gold is better (2 Timothy 4:6-8.)

 8. Ceremonies, no matter how flashy, fail to compare to the actual games (Colossians 2:16,17.)

 9. Commentators talk. Athletes do (James 1:22.)

 10. The best is yet to come (2 Corinthians 4:16-18.)
