'101 Dalmatians' Reboot News: Emma Stone Confirmed to Play Cruella de Vil

It was confirmed that Emma Stone will take on the role of Cruella de Vil in the upcoming Disney live action film.

Disney has been releasing several live action adaptations of the classic animated films. With that, it was announced that the well-loved animated film "101 Dalmations" will be receiving a spin-off film that will depict a younger Cruella de Vil.

With that, fans have been wondering who will get the chance to play the iconic Disney villain. It was stated that Disney is hoping to re-envision the villain. However there has yet to be any details regarding who will direct the new spin-off.

There were speculations that Emma Stone will be portraying the younger de Vil. According to previous reports by The Hollywood Reporter, Stone was in early negotiations with Disney regarding the upcoming film. However, there were some reports criticizing the choice, as some fans believe that Stone will not be a good fit.

Nevertheless, it was recently confirmed that Stone will in fact be playing the role. Disney recently announced the news earlier this week. While the role has been confirmed, there has yet to be any detail regarding what else the upcoming film will hold or who else will join Stone for it. It was teased that the upcoming film will be a prequel to the classic "101 Dalmatians" film.

The film is expected to being shooting this year, using a script written by Kelly Marcel. The prequel will be produced by Andrew Gunn, along with Kristin Burr and Jessica Virtue.

Along with the upcoming spin-off of "101 Dalmatians," it was reported that fans will soon learn see several other Disney live action films such as the "Descendants" and "Beauty and the Beast."
