2016 Jaguar XF release date, specs, and features: Fans can expect sleeker appearance

Jaguar has released the specs and features of the upcoming 2016 Jaguar XF sedan and promised that fans can expect the new car to have a sleeker appearance.

In April this year, the British luxury car maker unveiled the 2016 Jaguar XF sedan via an official press release on its website. While fans were not that excited at the time with the new luxury car because of its high cost, Jaguar has now given them different car options that are more pocket-friendly, according to the Latin Post.

Compared to other cars, such as the BMW, Mercedez-Benz, and Audi, the Jaguar vehicles are usually more expensive even for average cars. But now, the company has lowered its prices and provided more options for different drivers. The 2016 Jaguar XF will have three variants: the entry level, mid level, and sports edition, Digital Trends reports.

The 2016 Jaguar XF will have a lighter body with the hood and front fenders made of aluminum alloy. The front-end carrier and the cross-car beam will be made of magnesium alloy. This change makes the new XF 265 pounds lighter than the 2015 edition, Jaguar said in its press release.

For the entry level, the XF 35i Premium is a vehicle with a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine, 340 horsepower, and 332 pound-feet of torque. In addition, it has a ZF eight-speed automatic gearbox and a standard infotainment system, which is available in all the XF variants. The starter-level XF will cost $52,895, the report details.

The mid-level XF 35t will cost $57,545 and the sports version will come with a price tag of $61,645. Car enthusiasts who want the high-end XF version can opt for the XF S, which also has the turbocharged V6 engine but will have 380 horsepower. This vehicle will cost $63,695.

Fans can opt to make the XF all-wheel drive by adding $3,000 to the total package, the report adds. Jaguar is reportedly due to release a turbodiesel version of the XF sedan next year and this will cost less than $50,000. While the turbodiesel car will be unveiled this winter, the XF 35t and XF S will be the first ones to be released, Car and Driver states.

The 2016 Jaguar XF will be available at the start of the winter this year.
