7 Commandments Jesus Gave Us From The Gospels To Follow

Credit :

Much like the Ten Commandments, Jesus gave us these seven commands in the Gospel in which we don't have room to push them to the side. They are very important and crucial to the way we live as Christians. When Jesus gives His commands to us He doesn't expect us to try and find a way around them. Jesus tells us to do them.

Jesus said "If you love me, you will keep my commandments" (John 14:15). Our love for Him is reflected in our obedience to Him. If you love Jesus then you will try your hardest to obey His commands. Obedience in God tells us if we truly love Jesus or not.

In these seven commandments we will prove our love for Jesus by following and teaching others to do the same. There are more than seven commandments that are found in the Bible.

Below are seven very important commandments Jesus gave us in the Gospels:

Love One Another:
John 13:34-35 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

Pray for your Enemies:
Matthew 5:44-45 "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust."

Repent:
Matthew 4:17 "From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Believe that Jesus is in the Father:
John 14:11 "Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves."

Take up your Cross and Follow Me:
Matthew 16:24-25 "Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it."

Go and Make Disciples:
Matthew 28:18-20 "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

Pray Always:
Luke 21:36 "But stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man."
