7-Eleven stores everywhere are offering free 7.11-ounce Slurpees this Friday in commemoration of 7-11 day on July 11.
Each year, 7-Eleven celebrates its "birthday" by doling out the famous frozen drink for free on the special date that denotes its name, 7/11.
"It's #7ElevenDay: come get your free small Slurpee," the store wrote on its Facebook page. "It's recognized universally (by us) as a get-out-work-free card. #FreeSlurpeeDay."
The chain convenient store is hosting its annual free Slurpee giveaway from this year from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with an additional offers all week long. From July 7 to July 12, customers at 7-Eleven who download the 7-Eleven App can enjoy free offers including a free Big Gulp drink on Saturday, free M&M's on Sunday, and free Grandma's Cookies on Monday. The remaining offers for the rest of the week, respectively, are free Hostess Twinkies, free Twix or Snickers ice cream bars, free Quaker Chewy Yogurt snack bars, free Pillsbury cookies, and then another free Slurpee offering on Saturday, July 19.
Furthermore, in honor of 7-11 Day, the convenient store is inviting customers to visit seven different 7-Eleven stores today and share pictures from the locations on Facebook.
"Want a Slurpee surprise? Go to seven different 7-Eleven stores today, make a photo collage and tag it #711DayChallenge for a gift and the title of Slurpee Master," the store added to Facebook.
Despite the free Slurpee offering, 7-Eleven is hoping to make a profit off of its birthday celebrations. In addition to the free Slurpee, customers will be tempted to buy the Big Bite hot dog on sale today for just $1 instead of $1.99. Moreover, the store's new Doritos Loaded snacks are also available on sale.
For those who would rather opt for a free donut instead of a Slurpee today, Krispy Kreme is also celebrating its birthday today. The famed donut chain is honoring its 77th birthday on 7/11 by offering customers who order a dozen donuts a second dozen for just $0.77. The deal lasts all day.
