So skip the Big Mac’s and Double Doubles this week and save time, and your health with these seven simple recipes any average Joe could recreate. There’s no need to sacrifice nutrition when it comes to quick and easy eating these days.

1. World’s Best (and easiest) Salmon by VRAKLIS from Spark Recipes

Ingredients: ¼ cup pure maple syrup or honey; ¼ cup soy sauce; 2-3 cloves minced garlic 12 ounces fresh or thawed salmon.

Directions: Combine the first 3 ingredients in a gallon-size Ziploc bag, shake it up, and then add the salmon. Allow to marinate in the refrigerator for an hour, turning after half an hour. Pour the salmon and the marinade into a baking dish and bake in a 350-degree oven, covered with foil for 15 minutes. The salmon is done when it flakes easily at the thickest part. Makes four 3-ounce servings.

2. Salmon Salad Sandwich from Eating Well

Ingredients: 2 6- to 7-ounce cans boneless, skinless wild Alaskan salmon, drained; ¼ cup minced red onion; 2 tablespoons lemon juice; 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil; ¼ teaspoon freshly ground pepper; 4 tablespoons reduced-fat cream cheese; 8 slices pumpernickel bread, toasted; 8 slices tomato; 2 large leaves romaine lettuce, cut in half.

Directions: Combine salmon, onion, lemon juice, oil and pepper in a medium bowl. Spread 1 tablespoon cream cheese on each of 4 slices of bread. Spread ½ cup salmon salad over the cream cheese. Top with 2 tomato slices, a piece of lettuce and another slice of bread. Makes 4 sandwiches.

3. Bagels and Lox with Avocado Spread by freshandfoodie from Tasty Kitchen

Ingredients: 2 whole everything bagels, halved and toasted; 1 whole avocado; ½ whole lemon, juiced, plus more to serve; 1 piece smoked salmon; 2 slices (thin) red onion; 2 tablespoons capers, rinsed and drained; 2 pinches salt and freshly cracked pepper.

Directions: While the bagels are toasting, mash avocado with the lemon juice in a small bowl. Season to taste. Schmear each bagel half with avocado spread, then top with smoked salmon, red onion and capers. Finish with a squeeze of fresh lemon and a twist or two of freshly cracked black pepper.

4. Salmon Cakes II by Jeanie Bean from All Recipes

Ingredients: 1 (14.75 ounce) can salmon, drained and flaked; 1 small onion, minced; 1 egg; ½ cup fresh bread crumbs; 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce; 1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce; ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper; ¼ cup shredded Cheddar cheese; 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley; 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour for coating; ¼ cup butter; 3 tablespoons olive oil.

Directions: Combine salmon, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, hot pepper sauce, black pepper, cheese and parsley; mix well. Shape into four patties. Dust lightly with flour. Chill for 20 minutes. In a large skillet heat butter and olive oil over medium high heat. Cook the patties until browned on both sides, about 10 minutes. Drain briefly on paper towels before serving. Makes 4 servings.

5. Baked Dijon Salmon by Esmee from All Recipes

Ingredients: ¼ cup butter, melted; 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard; 1 ½ tablespoons honey; ¼ cup dry bread crumbs; ¼ cup finely chopped pecans; 4 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley; 4 (4 ounce) fillets salmon; salt and pepper to taste; 1 lemon, for garnish.

Directions: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. In a small bowl, stir together butter, mustard, and honey. Set aside. In another bowl, mix together breadcrumbs, pecans, and parsley. Brush each salmon fillet lightly with honey mustard mixture, and sprinkle the tops of the fillets with the breadcrumb mixture. Bake salmon 12-15 minutes in the preheated oven, or until it flakes easily with a fork. Season with salt and pepper, and garnish with a wedge of lemon. Makes 4 servings.

6. Salmon Chowder Recipe by Kenulia from All Recipes

Ingredients: 3 tablespoons butter; ¾ cup chopped onion; ½ cup chopped celery; 1 teaspoon garlic powder; 2 cups diced potatoes; 2 carrots, diced; 2 cups chicken broth; 1 teaspoon salt; 1 teaspoon ground black pepper; 1 teaspoon dried dill weed; 2 (16 ounce) cans salmon; 1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk, 1 (15 ounce) can creamed corn; ½ pound Cheddar cheese, shredded.

Directions: Melt butter in a large pot over medium heat. Sauté onion, celery, and garlic powder until onions are tender. Stir in potatoes carrots, broth, salt, pepper, and dill. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat. Cover, and simmer 20 minutes. Stir in salmon, evaporated milk, corn, and cheese. Cook until heated through. Makes 8 servings.

7. Easy Salmon by ChristyJ from All Recipes

Ingredients: 6 (4 ounce) fillets salmon; 1 (0.7 ounce) package dry Italian-style salad dressing mix; ½ cup water; 2 tablespoons lemon juice; 1 cup fresh sliced mushrooms.

Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly butter one 9x13 inch baking dish. In a cup, combine salad dressing mix, water and lemon juice. Arrange salmon fillets in a single layer in the prepared baking dish. Pour the water mixture over the top and place the sliced mushrooms over the salmon. Bake, covered, for 15 minutes. Remove cover and bake for an additional 15 minutes, basting with cooking liquids. Makes 6 servings.
