$99 HP TouchPad: 'Last Chance' to Get Tablet? Online Inventory Depleted

According to HP Inc., its online inventory of TouchPad tablets is depleted and the limited stock available by certain retailers is all that remains.

“At HP, we try very hard to provide a positive experience to every customer who purchases an HP product,” the company’s website read.

Adding, “In some cases, like the HP TouchPad where supply has been extremely limited from the start, we simply cannot meet demand.”

According to a DigiTimes report, HP will produce 100,000 to 200,000 TouchPad units, at the end of October, to help suppliers clear out inventories, including touch panels, batteries, and chassis, while maintaining good relationships with companies involved.

Despite this report of promised tablets, this is the “last chance” to get the popular $99 TouchPad.

The limited supply of HP tablets has been selling at the extremely cheap price of $99 for the 16GB and $149 for the 32GB.

After the surprising success of the TouchPad fire sale that ignited the tablet buying frenzy and concluded in a sellout of the device across the nation and in Canada, HP said, "Despite announcing an end to manufacturing webOS hardware, we have decided to produce one last run of TouchPads to meet unfulfilled demand."

However the company added, "We can’t promise we’ll have enough for everyone."

And as stated on HP’s latest update, “more TouchPads on the way” has become “last chance” to grab a tablet of your own.

Social Media Manager for HP Bryna Corcoran’s latest tweet supports the company’s update.

Corcoran tweeted, “My thoughts on the latest TouchPad info summed up in hastags: #IFeelYouBro #Workerbee #JustTheMessenger #Heartbroken #StayCool #Hugzies”
