Alex Rodriguez, known as A-Rod, has been named in reports of a new romance this week.
The New York Yankees third baseman is famous not only for baseball, but for his personal life. A-Rod has been romantically linked to numerous high-profile women including Cameron Diaz, Madonna, and Kate Hudson, among others.
While Rodriguez is currently healing from a repaired hip, the baseball star has been linked to a young woman from Santiago in the Dominican Republic, according to Yahoo! Sports.
A-Rod's new love is rumored to be Rebeca Yunen, 24, an honors graduate in Business Administration from a university in Santiago, reported a newspaper in the Dominican Republic.
"[He] spent practically all day last Saturday together with his new love," said a source at Diario Libre.
Meanwhile, Rodriguez is of Dominican descent. The baseball star was born in New York City, but spent much of his childhood in the Spanish-speaking Caribbean region.
The youngest player to ever hit 500 home runs, A-Rod is considered one of the best baseball players of all time.
Today, Rodriguez is recovering from January's surgery on his left hip and is not expected to return to the baseball field until after the All-Star break. Some reports indicate that injury may ultimately end the baseball star's career.
Meanwhile, A-Rod is also combating allegations that he used performance-enhancing drugs out of a Miami-area clinic.
Major League Baseball is reportedly in talks with the Miami New Times, the publication that broke the story, over obtaining documents that indicate detailed client records from the clinic.
Melky Cabrera and Nelson Cruz are also named along with Rodriguez in the doping allegations.
Adding to his woes, A-Rod also came under fire earlier this year after reports indicated that his charity, AROD Family Foundations, Inc. only donated one percent of donations to charitable causes.
