For Milan, they have a few games left to try and get as much points as they can to possibly finish in the European spots for the coming campaign.

At the moment, they are fifth in the league with 52 points and are seven points behind Fiorentina for one of two spots for the UEFA Europa League.

Roma are third with 65 points and have the final UEFA Champions League place and while it is nearly impossible for Milan to catch them, they still have 15 points to win and a 12-point deficit can be erased if Roma completely collapse in the last stretch.

On the other hand, Carpi are desperate for points as they are 17th in the league, only one place above the three relegation spots.

Furthermore, they have only a one-point cushion over Frosinone who are 18th.

It has been tough for Carpi at the moment as they have only won one in their last three league games.

They dropped games against Sassuolo and Chievo, but bounced back in their last game as they thrashed Genoa 4-1

As for Milan, they also recently broke their winless run with a 1-0 win over Sampdoria.

Before that, Milan had not won in their last five league games.

In their first meeting this season, both teams settled for a draw and they met again at the Coppa Italia where Milan took a 2-1 win in the cup tie.
