Adele US 2016 Tour: 'Hello' Singer Pays Tribute to Prince [WATCH]

British singer Adele Performs in Minnesota, Hometown of Late Musical Innovator

Adele fans flocked into the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota, as the British pop star kicked off her long-awaited U.S. tour last Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Adele paid tribute to Prince right at his very own hometown when she played the popular music video of the late music icon, "The Most Beautiful Girl in the World."

While performing, she enthralled the crowd of around 15,000 with a surprising tribute for the father of the Purple Rain. The music video was aired when Adele passed the light of the stage to the late artist. It was shown shortly in between her end set and her encore performance.

After the tribute, she told her audience, "I did maybe consider covering a song, but fuck it, it's Prince." Adele also said after playing the music video, "Did you enjoy that Prince video?" Videos storm the social media as audience clap along and sing during the tribute.

Prince has always been very critical when it comes to covers. Adele made sure that by not singing one of Prince's songs and considering that she gave Prince the center stage even though it was only a music video, she made sure that the tribute would cater to a more respectful approach rather than an upstaging performance.

The late musical innovator, Prince, was of course similar with Adele's masterpieces. In an interview with Prince back in 2011, he construed the beauty of Adele performing live. He said that it's simply great how Adele comes out and sings with a piano; and no gimmicks.

Right before singing one of her hit singles "Rumor Has It," Adele shared with her fans a story of when she first celebrated the Fourth of July in the United States. She was in Minnesota as well watching a parade. She then sang "Water Under the Bridge" and performing almost 50% of her 18 album's set.

Here's a setlist of Adele's concert in Minnesota:

Hello, Hometown Glory, One and Only, Rumour Has it, Water Under the Bridge, I Miss You, Skyfall, Million Years Ago, Don't You Remember, Send My Love (to Your New Lover), Make You Feel My Love (Bob Dylan cover),Sweetest Devotion, Chasing Pavements, Someone Like you and "Set Fire to The Rain." For her encore, she performed All I Ask, When We Were Young, and "Rolling in the Deep."

Adele is expected to roll through Chicago next for her U.S. tour. The album 25's leg will extend until mid of November this year.
