Adobe Creative Cloud News and Updates 2016: Apps Get New VR, Collaboration, 3D and Other Features

The New Update Brings A Whole Lot to the Adobe Creative Cloud Apps

The Adobe Creative Cloud has been one of the leading industry standards when it comes to media production and workflow. It continuously adapts with the changing times, and with the arrival of new innovations come new updates for its creative suite of applications.

VR Features

Premiere Pro is Adobe's top of the line non-linear video editor. New virtual reality workflow features are added to the software, including the ability to work with stitched equi-rectangular video. There is also the new auto-aware VR, which is capable of detecting whether the media is monoscopic, stereoscopic over/under, or stereoscopic left/right. The app also now exports VR files with tags for YouTube and other media players.

Lumetri Color

The Lumetri Color panel revolutionized color editing in Premiere Pro. With the new update, the color picker for the HSL secondaries will be improved. It also now supports HDR10 metadata for the newer HDR-capable displays. There is also an expanded support for color space metadata for a more precise color reproduction.

3D and VFX for After Effects

The primary visual effects component of the Creative Cloud, After Effects, is now getting support for more interactive 3D content. The newly integrated Cinerender technology offers an improved 3D CPU rendering performance, allowing for the production of editable 3D elements.

The app is also getting a new preview architecture that allows users to play raw footage without caching the preview footage. The Dynamic Link feature between After Effects and Premiere Pro is also improved for a much smoother workflow.

Collaboration

Premiere Pro and After Effects will get new collaborative tools, along with Prelude, Adobe's video logging and ingest software. Simultaneous work would now be possible with shared Team Projects, which would have dedicated servers provided by Adobe. There is also a smart version control which includes automatic conflict resolution, allowing users to work on projects without anyone unnecessarily overwriting modules.

Puppet Creation and Animation

The Character Animator CC will gain faster and easier support for this feature. Software switching among Character Animator, Photoshop, and Illustrator would now also be faster and more efficient with new functionalities.

Live Text Templates, Captions, and Subtitles

Rich dynamic graphics created in After Effects could now be integrated with video material in Premiere Pro, with the text now allowed to be edited without going back to After Effects. This provides a more consistent visual branding and production among the content. A new subtitling and captioning workflow would also be included in the update for easier syncing between the captions and the video.

Other Updates

Typekit now automatically syncs fonts in Premiere Pro when using Live Text Templates. Premiere Pro also gains a more robust audio editing capabilities. Audition, Adobe's top-notch audio production and editing app, lends its processing features to Premiere Pro. There is also now a Destination Publishing feature to Behance, YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter.
