'Agent Carter' News, Update: First Teaser for the Female-Led Marvel TV Series Revealed

With all the hype surrounding "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" and its newest trailer, the announcement of "Captain America 3" title, the "Thor 3" title confirmation, and all about the MCU Phase 3 movie lineup, one could surely say that this week is a Marvel's Week.

Marvel also gave love to its small screen properties. Joining the excitement is the news about the recent release of the upcoming TV series "Agent Carter," which is scheduled to air every Tuesdays come January of 2015.

Along with a video, the official Twitter account for "Agent Carter," @AgentCarterTV posted online a rather brief but exciting announcement.

"#AgentCarter is coming to ABC Tuesdays this January," the tweet read.

The teaser trailer itself is enticing enough to grab the attention of many Marvel Universe fans.

In less than 15 seconds, the video showed a rather promising story filled with gun-slinging and martial arts moves coming from a lady agent, Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell).

It started off with a voiceover telling its viewers that "sometimes the best man for the job is a woman."

It then showed scenes where Peggy is really doing a man's job of shooting and going after some bad guys.

What's also intriguing is the fact that the show is set in a 1940-ish, Mafia-infested era, as what the short snippet had shown.

Previous reports already stated that "Agent Carter" will premiere when "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." takes it mid-season break in January.

The storyline will follow Peggy Carter after the "Captain America: The First Avenger" events where she balances her time as an employee of Strategic Scientific Reserve and an assistant to Tony Stark/Iron Man's father and founder of Stark Industries, Howard Stark.
