Fans may already know that the second installment of the ABC programming will find Peggy in the City of Angels with a new plot that would involve the mysterious powers of the Darkforce as well as the ominous threats from Madam Masque.

In an earlier interview, executive producer Michele Fazekas further revealed that the heroine would still be working for the Strategic Scientific Reserve. However, a case that is beyond the understanding of the LAPD will prompt Peggy to head over to LA, ultimately leaving New York.

Meanwhile, the casting for the role of Masque is yet to be announced. But Fazekas' co-exec producers Tara Butters and Chris Dingess previously dished out to /Film (via Screen Rant) that the new villain in this season "is very much a Marvel villain that we co-opted a little bit like Dr. Fennhoff in the first season."

Several changes, however, are being made on the character in question.

"I think we've changed the look of her a bit obviously. We've made her an actress, which is very Hedy Lamarr. She was a '40s siren actress who was also a scientific genius, so that's part of what we're mining with this character," Butters said (via SR).

In the comics, Madame Masque is a robotics expert whose influence often clash with members of the Avengers, most particularly with Tony Stark/Iron-Man. Changing the character's origin and identity seems necessary to match up with the 1940s setting of the ABC show.

"Agent Carter" returns to ABC for Season 2 in 2016.
