'Agent Carter' Season 2 News: Executive Producers Say Peggy Will Face Some 'Recognizable' Marvel Villains

New location means new friends and foes for Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) in the next season of ABC's hit crime-fighting TV drama series "Marvel's Agent Carter."

It has previously been reported that the titular character will embark on a journey from Season 1's New York City down to Los Angeles. Additionally, the SSR officer by day and Secret Agent by night is expected to confront some familiar villains from Marvel Comics.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producers Tara Butters and Michelle Fazekas teased that Season 2 will introduce "more than one" new baddies and comic book fans will easily recognize them.

"People who are fans of the Marvel comic book universe will recognize our villain and there's more than one villain," Fazekas said. "We're certainly taking inspiration from the comic book universe, so anybody who knows that will be rewarded."

Who could these villains be?

The people over at BSP sounded off their speculations by naming Baron Zemo.

"The original Baron Zemo could be a candidate. The latter day Zemo is set to make his first appearance in Captain America: Civil War, but that identity was always a legacy role in the comics, and since we've seen no signs of Heinrich Zemo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, Agent Carter would be an ideal place to work him in," Nick Tylwalk of BSP said.

The site however noted that if the show veers away from the World War II storyline, then Cold War-era villains such as "The Man With No Face" or "Red Guardian" could come into play in the next season.

"Agent Carter" Season 2 airs early in 2016.
