'Agent Carter' Season 2 News, Update: Hayley Atwell Reveals Plot Details for Potential Second Season

ABC's Marvel TV drama series "Agent Carter" concluded on Feb. 24 and ever since, not much has been heard if the female-centric crime-fighting show is getting a season renewal.

However, a recent interview cited by Enstarz pointed out Hayley Atwell's take on what the next chapter should talk about, if ever it will get one.

"If we get a second season, which is not being confirmed, we'd really like to look in Peggy's back-story to find out what made her the person that she is," the English actress told My Fanbase. "So we'd delve into her family."

Sharing some thoughts about her time suiting up as Agent Carter, Atwell also mentioned some interesting plot points that Marvel could take on for her character.

"She lives to a very old age, she's been through the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and the 90s…" she said while referring to the moments to which her character could have gone through. "She's seen such a huge economic change and she would have been very privileged, she would have joined the UN, she might have run for President."

"She could have done all these extraordinary things that would have been very relevant to the issues of the time and that's something the writers would feel to explore incredibly well if we go to a second or a third, fourth season. I'd jump at the chance to do that!" the 33-year-old actress went on to say.

Atwell meanwhile mentioned Peggy's personal life which she hopes will be tackled on the next season.

"There'd definitely be a love interest as that's relevant by the end of the first season. I think she's moved on now so that'd be about her moving on with her life and settling down with someone," she said.

It remains to be seen if ABC and Marvel will give the greenlight for a second chapter of the show.
