Air Jordan 11 'Space Jam' Release Date, Price and Design: Footwear Mimics Look of 1995 Original

Shoe Expected to Have the Number '45' on Its Heel

When the Air Jordan 11 "Space Jam" returns by the end of the year, the shoes is expected to have similarities with the original release made available in 1995. The Jordan Brand has reportedly worked with Warner Bros. for this sneaker collaboration.

Michael Jordan's famous footwear version during the 1995 NBA Playoffs will be remade to include the number "45" on its heel, Sneaker News said. This represents Jordan's jersey number when he first returned to playing basketball in March 1995. Aside from this, its upper leather was made to look like the original shoe model with a blue, white and black design.

The mudguard edges of the shoe will have a white color just like the OG Air Jordan 11 while the Jumpman branding on the shoe is Concord. The "Space Jam" shoe release will be available in December this year for $220.

It will be launched to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the Warner Bros collaboration, added NiceKicks. The Jordan Brand has reportedly worked with the entertainment company for the licensing of their Air Jordan 11 products .

Back in 1995, NBA superstar Michael Jordan wore the original Air Jordan 11s during the playoff game versus the Orlando Magic. It was specially designed for his hit movie Space Jam where he was joined by Bugs Bunny and other Looney Tunes characters.

The shoe also appeared on the film before Jordan used it as his official footwear during the season that followed. It originally had "23" on its sole during Jordan's rise to fame.

The footwear gained popularity just like Jordan and the 1996 live action and animated movie, Esquire mentioned. However, only five pairs of the shoes came out during its first release. It also had two more releases after that, the most recent being seven years ago.

In addition, Complex said that the upcoming shoe release will also have an outsole that looks bluer that earlier releases. There is also an expected "remastered" edition of the shoes taking its design from the one that appeared on the Space Jam movie.

Since December will be the target release period of the Space Jam iteration, sneaker fans are expected to include the Air Jordan 11 to their holiday wish list. They will, however, spend about half of the price of the shoe ten years ago when it was sold only for $120.

What do you think of the upcoming Air Jordan "Space Jam" variant? Does it look better than the earlier releases?
