Alyssa Milano's Prank 'Sex Tape' Directs Attention to Syria

Alyssa Milano played a well-plotted prank on her fans with a video posted to Funny or Die this week.

The 40-year-old actress appeared in a skit on the comedy website that led viewers to believe it was a "leaked" sex tape involving a strange man.

"Oh no! I'm not sure how it got out," Milano feigned on Twitter Wednesday along with a link to FunnyorDie.com. "My sex tape was leaked. Not sure what to say. Going to post the link myself to try to control the situation."

The video opens with a scene of Milano seemingly drunk vacationing in Mexico when she enters a bedroom filled with lit candles and rose petals.

Next, the actress positions the camera in view of a man lying in bed.

However, the camera is knocked aside and focused on a television where a news program is playing.

As it turns out, Milano lured viewers in with a fake sex tape in order to offer insight to more serious matters.

Using Funny or Die, Milano made another attempt to shed light on the conflict that is currently plaguing Syria.

In addition to the fake sex tape, the "Charmed" actress has used social media to direct online readers' attention to Syria.

"I want my son to live in a world without war," the actress posted to Twitter on Aug. 30. She also added a link to UNICEF through which people can offer help to children in Syria.

Milano is not the only celebrity to publicly address the crisis in Syria. Actress Natalie Portman took a stance against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad using Facebook, and more recently, dozens of celebrities voiced their reactions to U.S. President Obama's request for action against Syria.

Meanwhile, Funny or Die was founded by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay in 2006. The site frequently sees original and user-generated content including material from several famous contributors.

Furthermore, Funny or Die clips in the past have starred Charlie Sheen, Ryan Gosling, Mila Kunis, and Eva Longoria, to name a few.
