Amanda Knox Trial Update: Reconvicted in Italian Court, Knox and Sollecito Awaiting Court Decision

Amanda Knox and her ex-boyfriend Rafaelle Sollecito were re-convicted of killing Meredith Kercher by a Florence court early this year.

The murder case will be heard in Italy's highest court of appeal on March 25 next year, which is more than one year after the second guilty verdict. If the verdict is upheld, Italian officials will start the process of extraditing the 27-year old Knox from the U.S.

Kercher was found dead in 2007 at the age of 21 in the apartment that she shared with Knox in Perugia, Italy. Knox and Sollecito were initially found guilty of the murder and were sentenced to 26 and 25 years respectively in prison. After spending four years behind bars, the two of them were acquitted and Knox returned to her home in Washington.

Knox was last known to be living with her boyfriend, a classical guitarist named James Terrano, but according to the Daily Mail, it appears as if she has moved on to another musician — an aspiring rocker named Colin Sutherland.

The new couple was recently pictured kissing on the beach and on the boardwalk at Coney Island, and the website reports it is unclear whether Knox has moved to New York to be with Sutherland or was just visiting.

Meanwhile, the murder case is set to make its way to the big screen as BBC is setting out to create the film which reportedly stars Kate Beckinsale and Cara Delevingne. Though the film was approved by Kercher's family, Knox's lawyers threatened to sue if the film pushes through. The film will be largely based on the book penned by CNN journalist Barbie Latza Nadeau titled "Angel Face."
