In the past, "Amazing Spider-Man" cast members Garfield, Stone and Jamie Foxx admitted that there was something missing from the first film. The sequel Spiderman film is believed to tell the "untold story" of Parker, including a subplot that focuses on a family revelation.

"I sat with [screenwriters] Bob Orci and Alex Kurtzman in a restaurant for lunch in New York, and they pitched me this movie, and I was crying," Garfield told Yahoo News of "Spider-Man 2."

"I'm an easy crier, but I was really emotionally moved by what they said to me," the British actor added. "And I think a lot of my emotion was because these two guys love the character as much as I do. I think there was something missing in the first one because our focus wasn't on the character as much."

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" hits theaters on May 2. Abroad, the film hits theaters earlier, on April 18.

Meanwhile, there are also third and fourth "Amazing Spider-Man" films in the works and scheduled for released in May 2016 and May 2018, respectively.
