'American Horror Story: Hotel' news, cast, spoilers: Details on the Halloween's two-episode special

The new "American Horror Story" (AHS) may be missing Jessica Lange, but the star power this season would not seem any less. Many veteran actors of AHS were more than happy to return for "Hotel" and check in to the Hotel Cortez, the main setting of the season.

One of the stars recently confirmed to return is Lily Rabe. According to FashionNStyle, Rabe will be taking the role of serial killer Aileen Wuornos. Rabe will also be the second actress portraying the Florida-based serial killer, after Charlize Theron's Academy Award-winning performance in "Monster," which is based on the story of Wuornos. She is set to appear in the Halloween episode.

Ryan Murphy, co-creator of the show, told Entertainment Weekly a few details about the said episode. He shares, "The biggest serial killers of all time all come to the hotel. Gacey. Aileen. [Detective] John Lowe's (Wes Bentley) invited to a devil's night dinner. He thinks someone is pulling a huge prank on him. It's the biggest serial killers of all time in a room with him and he has to figure out who is trying to make him lose his mind."

Murphy will also be directing the said episode titled "Devil's Night." He also assured the news of Rabe's role, "Lily Rabe is coming to that episode. And she's playing Aileen Wuornos, which is really fun and bizarre. I don't want to give too much away, but I will tell you that she's at the centerpiece of that, and that's who she's playing."

The second source also reports that there will be two parts to the Halloween special. Although part 1 will be focused on Rabe, the second one will be featuring Darren Criss, a hipster who checks into Hotel Cortez with his girlfriend, on Halloween night. The high-maintenance couple's less-than-friendly demands will turn Iris', played by Kathy Bates, mood sour. Murphy added, "They're horrified they can't get their artisanal cheese and they hate the sheets and they put Iris [Kathy Bates] through the wringer and she's not happy."

"American Horror Story: Hotel" will premiere on FX on Oct. 7.
