'American Horror Story' Season 4 Cast Spoilers: Neil Patrick Harris Showered After Filming Scenes

Apparently, the horror in "American Horror Story" Season 4 is so intensely terrifying that even a guest star had to shower to wash off the entire dreadfulness after filming for some of its scenes.

A report from Enstarz.com revealed that actor Neil Patrick Harris will guest star in the upcoming 11th and 12th episode of the "Freak Show." Though the 41-year-old "Gone Girl" actor was having a good time on set, he remarked that the experience is "pretty scary."

Enstarz cited the actor's latest Twitter post revealing his experience with "AHS: Freak Show."

"Just finished filming my last scene for American Horror Story. I need to take a shower. Wash off all this horror," he tweeted.

As reported, Harris will play the character of a "chameleon salesman" in the forthcoming episodes.

Show co-creator Ryan Murphy dished out that Harris's role might be related with magic.

"Yeah I spoke to Neil last week. He sort of had an idea of what he wanted to do, and I had an idea that he liked," Murphy was quoted as saying during an interview with Entertainment Weekly in October.

"So I'm going to call him next week. If I can make it work, it will be something that shoots at the end. He's very interested in the show and obviously Neil is a magician and likes all that magic stuff. So he's fascinated with that. We're trying to make it work. I'm optimistic," Murphy added.

In the meantime, a synopsis for tonight's episode titled "Orphan" was revealed.

"The death of a Freak sparks troubling behavior in Pepper. Elsa reveals the history of the Freak Show. Desiree grows suspicious of Maggie," the summary reads.

"American Horror Story" Season 4 Episode 10 airs this Wednesday, Dec. 17, at 10 p.m. on FX.
